Which one is the best calorie/activity tracking site?
I've looked at the dailyplate, sparkpeople and fitday. I enrolled in all 3 and entered my food for today. I found all my food fastest on the dailyplate but it seems to be the only one that you actually have to pay to track your goal weight but it's not that much. I entered everything into fitday. I like that fitday calculates your base calories burned even before you do any exercise... maybe the others do that too. I just haven't seen it yet.
Before I paid for anything I wanted to get your thoughts. Probably another question that has been asked many times... sorry I keep asking non-original questions since I'm new. Thanks for your help! |
ok i guess in the DailyPlate I just enter 8 hrs of computer work... i love getting credit for that :) I also get credit for feeding my dogs and digging for worms... ok i didn't dig for worms. They have everything on there.
Ok applying make-up to self is a little ridiculous... next i'm going to look for taking a shower LOL |
You'll find many differing opinions on this! I like FitDay, but other people here use and enjoy all three.
I use sparkpeople and like it. But I stuck with it because that's where I started and it worked for me. I haven't tried the other two.
I'm a dailyplate girl :) Just found it the easiest to use for me.
I like Fitday! I haven't tried the others :).
I like Daily Plate myself. I've used sparkpeople and fitday, but Daily Plate just seemed to work for me.
I did pay to be a gold member, but it's not much. Worth it for me to be able to track weight and measurements. . |
I've used fitday but I wasn't looking for my foods, I put them in manually. If I needed to search for everything my opinon might be different.
I use the daily plate. You can track your weight and measurements with the free version (it is just a graph, though, like you could make in Excel).
I personally like FitDay. Spark people is a little too overwhelming and busy for me to use on a daily basis, but I still like it as a resource. I haven't really tried the Daily plate.
Good Luck...whatever you decide it's a great tool to use! :D |
Ditto to BarbPA. :D
I use daily plate, free version. It does track weight. I tried to use it from my bberry/mobile phone but learned I needed the pay version for that. I'm still considering that (6months+ since joined).
I've never checked out the other three but I like caloriesperhour.com
I like the daily plate more, except for the fact that it adds the calories that you burned during exercise onto your calorie goal. Which I think defeats the purpose? I dunno, lol.
I just started using Fitday, but I don't get the calories burned by lifestyle. Maybe once I use it a while I can figure it out
