!

Hey, me again...

Just poppin' in for a quick visit, see what's happening...Actually, I'm procrastinating on doing some (SOME? ) laundry...I don't want to dip into dh's undies again!

No homework today...*sigh of relief* but I did make him practice his trombone...which is worse? Then I made him read. THEN he could play Nintendo. We are going to the park in a little bit, he needs to time his 1/4 mile...maybe I should run with him. I was jogging there for a while, it was not bad. I would walk the track a few times, then jog maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 the track. I did actually get all the way around a few times. And I was fat! well, I still am, so obviously I did not stick to that!

I went for the annual breast flattening ritual today...gosh THAT'S fun! If I'm not mistaken, they are making the paper gowns smaller and smaller! They used to have nice cloth hospital gowns, complete coverage is all I ask for! Then they went to paper gowns, a decent length though, so you could gather the excess in front for better coverage. NOW, I'm given this little "belly shirt" paper vest that's barely down to my waist, and I ripped the back, trying to keep the front closed!! All the while sitting in the little room, with another woman (she wasn't having my difficulties) waiting for my turn. General Hospital was on ...I guess I haven't seen that in many a year...Boy did Luke get old!

Food has been good today. Making stir fry tonight with some beef and all the veggies in my bin...before they turn into next weeks science project! I traded tonight's day off for tomorrow instead and took an extra day on top of that...giving me Wed-Sun off! YES!! Spring cleaning and some painting...want to come help me, Lucky and Mary?

OK, I could just go on and on, free associating about anything that comes to mind, but the fact remains: THE LAUNDRY IS WAITING! :( I must go.

farewell...

Duckie25 04-09-2002 05:45 PM

Well, I just finished my book, and now I have to find something else to waste my time, not that this is wasting time. I have such a pitiful job that I have to find something to do to make the time go bye faster. I guess I should'nt complain I could have a mean boss breathing down my neck telling me what to do.

I'm having such a hard time trying to get back on track, I'm just not very happy and don't really care right now. I'm so stressed out over money ( the lack of) and the fights it causes between me and fiance. I'm the only one bringing in an Income right now and it doesn't seem to be stretching as far as I like, I can't even go grocery shopping, just able to pick up the basic's ( bread, milk, baloney) and It's really hard to diet when there's no diet food in the house.

Fiance got laid off at the end of January and has gone to trade school. It's a 3 month course and he's done at the end of April. He's taking welding, which is a good thing, he'll be making pretty good money, say in 4yrs:( but until then it will be a bit of a struggle. We were expecting him to recieve Employment Insurance benifits, but he didn't meet there qualifications (let's just say he did something stupid) and to top it all off he's a smoker and the price of cigarretes just went up, they now cost $9.00 a pack. You would thing he would quit and spend the little money we have on food, but no he manages to scrounge up enough money for his smokes, it makes me so maddddd. And we do have a 4yrs old son, makes me even maddder, that he so selfish.

He's done school at the end of this month so hopefully he'll get a job right away. And take away some of this burden.
Well I've just bored you all with my sob story but I just had to vent some steam, hope you don't mind

My mom just called and invited me out for dinner, one of the church's are having a spring supper so that will be good, and propably really fattening, but I don't care, I've been living on potatoes lately ( it's not that bad, yet).

Thanks for listening

Surprise... surprise... surprise

Well.. maybe it isn't a surprise to see me again. LOL
Maybe it is more like... Ugh... there she is again.
Either way... HERE I AM !!! :D

In case you didn't notice.. I have been AWOL.
I havent even been here to read. I don't know if I was going to post.. but once I start reading... well.. you guys are all soooo special. I just love you.

I have been busier than a hive of bees. :dizzy:
And I don't see an end in sight... well maybe June.
Most of it has been a good busy. Not all... but most.
I make a list... but only half gets done... and then I double the list each day. I don't know if I am coming or going.

I will try to get to all of you... but if I miss someone.. please don't take it personal. I just plain missed you... no intention.

Duckie... Living in a poor house.. "been there, done that". No fun at all. I about swallowed my tongue when you said $9 a pack for cigerettes. If boyfriend doesnt have a job then that must mean YOU are paying $9 a pack. I guess I am getting old... because I would cut him off. LOL

Baylee... I will come and decorate for you if you come and plant in my yard. I want to hire a landscaper to redo my front yard. I LOVE flowers and color... but no good at all in the yard.
Did you walk in the rain?? Many years ago I had a friend and some of my favorite memories are us walking in the rain.

Lucky..I am going to paint my bedroom this weekend. Tomorrow I am going to go buy a bedroom set. Ours is at least 25-30 years old. It is one thing having antiques that are old... but mine is just plain old. LOL. I would redecorate my daughters rooms every three years... and never mine. LOL

Jen..you have my curiousity going... what did your son's teacher want? LOL. Inquiring minds want to know. LOL

Kat.. I remember Luke and Laura like it was yesterday. LOL
I remember from when they were still teenagers. LOL
I am a hopeless romantic.. and I love "forbidden love stories" LOL
My husband used to always say.. "I don't get it.. he is ugly.. what do women see in him?" LOL. I would tell him it is not what he looks like. It is how he makes you feel loved... and how he treats Laura.... he worships her. LOL
No wonder my hubby doesn't get it. The only thing he worships is his bass boat.

Michelle.. Rice Market sounds like someplace I would enjoy. I have a lot of collectables.. and few antiques. My kitchen wall is covered with collectible kitchen gadgets. I have to laugh... it just looks like a bunch of crap.. and if you totaled it all up... it is probably worth a thousand dollars. LOL. I would croak if I had to pay that much for a picture or something. LOL. I also have several old daisy butter churns.

Malia... now you have me wanting prisms in my window too.
Where do you buy them? What got you started with them?

Thin... thanks for missing me. I missed being here. I am glad to be back. But... I am going to be really busy all week. I am going to be busy spending money whereas you are busy making it. LOL

Mary...after your sharing about your escapades since hubby losing 30 and you 39lbs ... (the "oh boy" comment ;) ) all I can say is...... Or GIRL !!

Tina... OH MY GOODNESS !!!! Way To Go !!!!
I couldn't be more proud of you if I had given birth to you. LOL
Keep up that great work. 41.5 lbs !!!!
And YES... you WILL do it this time !!!!!

I am out of here ladies. I sure enjoyed my visit. :smug:

prism 04-10-2002 03:26 AM

Good evening everyone,

Great day again. I stuck to my plan (combo WW/RS foodmover). I had to nap after work, I was too hungry. I was on a 32 point day too (Wendie plan). Thinking of portion control does it to me.

If I had a chance I would hang prisms everywhere. I got mine from a drug store. I started over 15 years ago. I had started photography and got a cross filter (photographers use a cross filter to catch the sparkle on a diamond). I started to hose water on plants everywhere and would catch the sparkle on the water drops. I love spring and summer. My bedroom gets sun from March thru Labor Day. A perfect remembrance of those lazy days of summer. Going to the beach every day, painting my nails, reading magazines...oh to be young again...Nah, it would bore me silly now, I last two hours at the beach max. Not to mention the wrinkling and age spots.

Lucky and 2cute, you're so ambitious. I think about painting, but I think the roof needs to be fixed first. (It's leaking onto my bedroom ceiling).

Duckie, hang in there. Enjoy your meal. I hope things look up pretty soon. Or light that torch under your fiance's ....

Kat, speaking of laundry. After about 6 weeks, I finally took my bed comforter to the laundromat. I use the large machine. It's too hot to use a comforter now. I'll pack it away for november. I went to the laundromat and it was like a three ring circus. A guy sitting next to my car playing a guitar. I'm in my car suffocating with my headphones on. I brought my earth, wind, and fire 3cd set with me. And found christmas music in it. Harps and the nutcracker suite. I listened to the nutcracker (to override the guitar). I read a book with a flashlight. Can you tell I don't like to sit in a laundromat?

This is becoming a novel. Goodnight to all. have a 100% op day tomorrow.
Malia

LuckyLadyBug 04-10-2002 07:35 AM

I am thrilled to report it is 43 here this morning...jealous, Malia? We had a thunderstorm early this morning...last week snow...wonderful, Minnesota.

Baylee, I think it was you way back on this thread that said you like wind chimes....ME TOO. I try to control myself because last summer I had to go out in the middle of a windy night and tie some up so I could sleep!!!! I also have crystals that I hang anywhere I think I can get away with it !!!!

I think I need a time management class. I just can't seem to get it together to get my house clean, the yard work done, post here, answer email AND diet. Oh, and go to work. Now that one I would like to eliminate - as long as I have a lot of money to spend !!!!!!

Thin this is "sort of" a bra question again. I need to find white or cream colored blouses for work. The big problem is you can always see your bra through them. Is there a magic white/cream colored material that you CAN'T see through but is light for summer?:dizzy:

Grannie39074 04-10-2002 08:58 AM

Hi all not much going on here I did vacume yesterday but thats about all for the house work. I slipped and ate 4 slices of pizza at the library yesterday. Oh well today is another day. gotta run see all of you chickies later

QueenB 04-10-2002 10:18 AM

Good Morning Everyone.........

Or should I say Goodnight? I'm not sure. I haven't went to bed yet! A friend of mine told me where I could find some pictures of Tony Stewart (my favorite Nascar driver) and I have been looking around :s: this morning. Ooh la la......Sorry DH. Nice way to send me off dreamland........:o Ok Tina, stop lusting. Anyways, how is everyone doing? Fantastic I hope.

Michelle: I am going all the way this time! And little girl.....you are one of my main sources of inspiration! I remember a day when we didn't see too much of you around here and I always love seeing one of your posts. You have such great ideas and you are doing wonderful at WW. Keep up all the hard work.

Thin: You always sound so busy....you wear me out. Don't forget to take time for you! Y O U are very important to us. You are a neverending source of inspiration and laughter! We love you. And I am very proud of you for fighting off those temptations......Good Job!

Lucky: You absolutely kill me! (me and DH 4 pounds closer) :o Well, I was off Monday night and he got home from work at 11:00pm and the kids were asleep...........oh well, you get the picture!

Kat: Once again girl, you have me laughing out loud. I had to wear DH's tidie whities once too.......the only problem was, he is smaller in the leg area than I am and I had to take a pair of scissors and cut part of the band that goes around the legs because they were too tight. He complained forever about me ruining his underwear! :p Also, I definitely know what your talking about with those lovely gowns you have to wear at the doctors. There was nothing good about either type if you ask me. If I got the cloth ones, I had to have two.....one for the front of me and one for the back. UGH! And paper, well just forget that . One sit.....and I had a split! Oh the humanity.........

Baylee: So good to see you around more lately. I've been missing you chicky! Was the walk outside refreshing? I can almost see you skipping along singing "Sunshine Day" from the Brady Bunch.....

Duckie: Sorry your having a hard time right now, but come here, we will always be here to support you. Maybe not financially, but spiritually. And don't feel bad...........we have ALL been there.
{{{{{Hugs}}}}}

2cute: What do you mean? In case we haven't noticed? We always notice when your gone. It's like someone has taken the sunshine out of our little room. That's why we don't like you to stay gone too long.....we need the warmth of you here. We know your busy if your not here.....just don't get busy too often!

Malia: You sound so creative. I love prisms too. I love the way they catch the light. Also sounds like you are doing well OP. Keep it up girl. You can do it.

Grannie: Seems like your are always running around and keeping busy with something. You wear me out. Glad you did good on the yard sale. Next time your going to have one, let me know in advance, so I can start advertising DH and sons in the paper and maybe by the time it rolls around, we will have a buyer or two!

Well, I guess I'm out of here. I promised myself when I sat down that I would be off this computer by 9:00 and here it is 10:06. It is so addictive! Why can't work go by this quickly? Hope I didn't miss anyone. I believe I did. Hello to Jen and Andria wherever you are! Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Now it's Zzzzzzzzzzzzs for me............

2cute2Bfat 04-10-2002 11:13 AM

Good morning all

(2Cute singing from the play Oklahoma)

"Oh what a beautiful morninggggg
Oh what a beautiful dayyyyyyy
I have a beautiful feelingggggg
Everythings going my wayyyyy"

Gee.. it feels great to wake up in the spring. :D
I always have birds singing outside my bedroom window...even during the winter. :p
Don't have time to post.... just thought I would add my 2cents in for Luckylady. (seeing how my name is 2cute..LOL)
As for the bra question.... I was told when I had to buy my daughter a white formal ... that you should wear a beige bra with white blouses and dresses. You should NOT wear white bras.
Reason being... you white bra contrasts your beige skin... thus showing more than a beige bra under a white dress. I don't know how true... but we went and bought a beige bra and sure enough.. it did not show. ;)

Now I am off to find a new bedroom set. I have been looking now for over a year.. and I have found two finally. One is twice as expensive as the other... and since I am sooo cheap... I will probably go with the cheapest. I have NEVER been any good at spending money ... I always fear being broke. It must be some deep seeded subconscious thing. But who knows.. I have waited 25-30 years for a new set... maybe I will splurge. ???
The mystery continues....

Jehari 04-10-2002 01:34 PM

Hi 'n' stuff.

2Cute: Sorry to leave you hangin'. My son was in a bit of a scuffle on the playground and they just wanted to let me know I guess. He's not in any trouble though cuz he didn't start it.

To everyone else: I'm sorry I'm not up to doing replys at the moment. I will try later. Just a HELLO to all of you.

I want to be short cuz I'm just oozing negativity today. I've stuck strictly to my 1400 calories, drank the dang water, exercised 6 out of 7 days, and have gained a pound. And no, I'm not losing inches either. I had set a goal to be 170 when I saw my DH May 8th. After a few weeks, I knew that wasn't going to happen, so I lowered my expectations to 175. Now, at 185, that's not looking real likely either. I know what the result will be if I give up, and I don't want that, but for all this work, I should be seeing 2 pounds a week, AT LEAST. I'm angry and ready to get drastic. I know all about the body going into starvation mode and such, but for the love of Pete! How do people who have their stomach stapled lose so much weight then?? They STARVE!! That's how!! So why would it be wrong for me to do it?? I'd just take lots of vitamin supplements like they do. Just for a few weeks. Like 600-800 calories. I KNOW I must sound like a crazy woman, but I'm really losing it here! I HAVE to get this FAT off!

Ok you guys. Thanks for listening to me spout off. Everyone was in such a good mood. I hope I didn't ruin it for anyone. As you can see, I'm not in a good way right now, so I'm going to sign off and find something to distract me before I just crawl into a corner.

Talk at ya later,
Jen

Grannie39074 04-10-2002 01:36 PM

Well I'm back 8 doz cookies later( made not eaten) fooled you didn't I

I am making my cookies for the reception I made a batch of Pinacolada cookies and a batch of lemon.

just checking in be back later

katrinabgood 04-10-2002 07:38 PM

I don't know, Mary...8 dozen cookies didn't sound too far out of my realm! 'specially if they're chocolate chips! How do you make pina colada cookies? That sounds yummy!

I'm taking a poll...does anyone have a Kirby vacuum? I just fell for the old sales pitch hook line and sinker...swore I was just in it for the F*R*E*E rug cleaning demo...$1200 later, (in easy installments that don't start til July, for my convenience!) I am the proud (?) owner of a Kirby vacuum/rug steamer/leaf blower/dog groomer/multi-attachment/now I have NO excuse for this house to be so damn dirty apparatus! In all honesty, I WAS impressed with how much dirt he sucked up after I had painstakingly vacuumed before he got here. Ohmigod...I had no idea there was SO MUCH DIRT in my rugs...yuck...and don't even get me started on the whole nasty dust mite business! :p I think the main reason that I got it is because my dh suffers from allergies, all year round, I can't help but think that getting rid of a ton of the dust and dog hair and dirt that she tracks in will improve his poor little nasal passages! (On second thought, anyone want a dog?) I have heard people say they have had the Kirby for years and are very happy with it...I'm trying to convince myself, can you tell? Any suggestions on how to tell my darling?

I have to jump into bed now, before I collapse...I'm working on about an hours worth of sleep at this point...oh yeah, except for the nap I snuck in my car at my son's baseball practice...thank god dh called me on the cell phone, I was probably on the verge of a good drool session or a snore fest...not a pretty sight!

So I'll say good night to all for now... see you tomorrow!

Grannie39074 04-10-2002 09:03 PM
