So Sick Of Water Weight!

  • Well it's my "time of the month" yet again, ladies... I swear it's so erratic I didn't even see it coming! I wondered why I suddenly stopped losing weight. So I've gained a little in water weight. I know, you'll say it's nothing to worry about, but I have a weigh-in with my dietitian on Thursday and I want it GONE! I'm willing to go to DRASTIC measures on this! Please help me!

  • Eek, drastic measures are not good! None of that, okay?
Couldn't you just explain your 'monthly issues' to the dietitian? A dietitian should probably know about water retention, especially in the case of women around TOM, and understand.

  • Yeah, I agree. The only thing I would suggest is that you drink more water. No, that's not a typing error--drinking more water helps to flush out substances that are causing you to retain water. But, a note of caution: Don't overdo this! Don't go over two quarts of fluids in a day.

Dietitians do know about TOM and water retention, so I wouldn't worry about it. It's not a contest!

so I guess I'll just tell her it's my *TOM* and my weight's a little funky. I'll tell her my low/goal weight from my other day too. Maybe she'll take the hint and not even weigh me at all!!! She does that sometimes when I'm afraid it'll be too high for me to handle. But gosh, I really had set my hopes on 149...
