Hi there,
I have never been to Egypt but I vacationed in Romania and in Bulgaria, and stomach upset (or rather, diarrhea) was to be expected. A friend of mine I went with had the following prevention strategy (she said it was recommended by others) - every morning we swallowed a shot of vodka. I don't really know if the vodka worked (I hated it - I am not a drinker and vodka, no matter how small an amount, first thing in the morning does not appeal to me at all) but neither of got sick. I tend to not to worry too much about this (but that's just me). I would probably have the salad, if it is a 5 star facility, I would assume precautions were taken to make sure none of the guests get sick. I would stay with smaller portions of everything except veggies and fruit (there is NO WAY I would stay with 1/2 cup of pasta for lunch) and I would not worry too much about weight. Like Barbara said, you lost it once, you can lose it again. Do a lot of swimming, that's a good exercise and if the hotel has a gym, use it as well. Enjoy your vacation! |
