Need answers before 2pm today!!

Hi there...

I'm 140lbs-143lbs depending on fluctuations, I lost down to 126lbs last year..sigh never mind.

Anyway, do you think a 5ft 7ins woman, 140lbs, BMI 22.4, 34E, usually UK dress size 10-12 (US 6-8, therefore) could wear a bikini without causing people to feel ill?

I'm being picked up for shopping in 3 hrs..help

thankyou!

As long as it fits.
The problem with bikinis is not what is in them but rather what sticks out.

Not too skimpy, good bra support ... a tan colouring helps. And stand up straight.

Ultimately ... if you feel horribly self conscious .. it won't work.

Did that help?

Well I was same BMI 2 yrs ago and I spent 2 wks in a white string bikini in Egypt and no one complained..yes it did help, obviously I need a supportive one anyway!

thankyou

I envy your youth  in the 120's, I wear a string in the backyard but there's some evil pregnancy left over yardage hanging out ;)

I'm going to work Emily, have a good day!

sh3l5 05-10-2008 07:02 AM

if i was a 10 - 12 id do it and sod whether it mad anyone else ill...
im at 144lb at the moment, and 5 foot 7 also, im a perfect size 12 top, but just over a 12 in bottoms....
grrr....

GatorgalstuckinGA 05-10-2008 07:19 AM

you definately could...but you need to feel comfy wearing it. I think your size is definately great. But from what it sounds like...you dont feel comfy in your own skin. You need to start enjoying your body no matter what otherwise you won't feel comfy wearing certain things. But yes i say get one...but find one that works on your body. I've seen people who were stick thin not look great in a bikini because of the bikini they chose. Find one that accents your body.

thankyou everyone!

Loopy, we have almost same stats..you cant tell me to wear one and not do it yourself!! :P do it do it do it

At 5 ft 7inches, 140 something lbs? And at your age? Oh yeah. I think you can "safely" wear a bikini. Without a doubt. And the only ones you just may make ill are the other gals on the beach. They are going to be soooo jealous of you. ;)

That being said, I know for the first time in ages, one piece bathing suits are really in this year. Regardless of what's "in" or not, wear what you will be the most comfortable in.

I think you should do it. I'll bet you will look great. let us know what happens.

EZMONEY 05-10-2008 10:03 AM

I know nothing about that EMILY...but a hug here for you that your day goes well!

martinlady711 05-10-2008 02:48 PM

If i had your stats, I'd walk around naked! Haha no really all joking aside if YOU don't like the sight of YOU in the bikini then no don't get one. But if you are just worried about what some other person will say...Screw them. They don't matter anyway. Hold your head high and be proud for your beauty and hard work.

thankyou EZ :) you are very sweet!

and to everyone else, this is one of the nicest forums out there.

well i went today to look for one but couldn't find my size, isn't that always the way?! BUT I am going tomorrow again (to different stores) so I WILL prevail..lol.
