This is a perfect example of mindless eating

I wasn't quite sure where to put this post... It's kinda funny... but when I thought more about it, it is a perfect example of my mindless eating... After work today I sat down with a bag of Quakes rice crackers... My cat loves to have his 'treats' with me... So I'm munching...munching... Giving kitty his Friskies treats, munching so more...feed kitty his treats... All of a sudden there was this horrible hunk of something in my mouth... IT WAS A CAT TREAT... I :censored: ate a cat treat !!! I laughed at myself.... but this is really bad.... once again a lesson learned.... I need more time to examine this and learn from it.... its ok you can laugh now............

LOL!!! I have cats and I know sooner or later that will happen to me.

Not really same experience...but when my daughter was still a baby and started crawling, she loved to go play around her grandparents' dog's food and water for some reason. Well, one day, we found her putting the dog's food in her mouth and loving it. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH lol and she was NOT happy when I tried to get it out of her mouth, either. LOL

When the child I nannied for first started crawling, he ate a chunk of dry dog food. Needless to say, he was no longer a vegetarian! (The family was vegetarian.)

So, how was it??

Sweetcaroline 04-07-2008 09:30 PM

:rofl::rofl: actually it was mixed in with crackers... and I spit it out so fast I'm not really sure...

 Oh thanks for the laugh, Sweetcaroline! I'm sorry you had to eat a cat treat, but man I really needed it today.

Ahhh maybe that's why my daughter doesn't like veggies as much as she likes meat...

 Man, I'd hate to write that one down in the food journal.

yoyonomoreinvegas 04-08-2008 10:24 AM

I just checked fitday - they don't list a calorie content for cat treats

You may have very well started a new diet! "The Cat Treat Diet." Heh!

When I was little, I used to share my dog's Milk Bones. I figured if they were good enough for my dog, they must be OK for me. My parents let me do it--there wasn't anything bad in Milk Bones, after all! And besides, it turned out I had a calcium deficiency, so probably I was craving that anyway.

But on the topic of mindless eating... A great example of "hand to mouth disease."

   Just too funny, and you are correct, that is a perfect example of mindless eating.

Thanks for sharing this. I did get a good laugh out of this. My son always goes for the cat food and loves eating it. He is 10 months old. I guess that it must taste pretty good.

Sweetcaroline 04-08-2008 08:23 PM

:D I'm glad I could make you all laugh... Weird thing... the rest of the crackers are still in the cabinet... I don't 'feel' like eating them... :?::?: Maybe I am on to something... when I have a craving, just pop a Friskie treat, then check that food off crave list... gotta go, i've got some turkey and giblets in the microwave... :hun:

How can you return the quakes to the cabinet. Those things are addicting as heck. My hubby complains that I eat them like they are going to be discontinued or something. He was a little shocked though when i proved to him I could eat the whole bag and still have less calories, fat, and sodium then a single serving of his doritos.
Love the caramel ones for something sweet!
