Hi JayaG! I'm on a mission too!
Planning to make changes and doing them are key to starting the weight loss process. I've only been at it a few weeks and I have 21 weeks till my goal. I already lost about 7lbs and really decided to start focusing on my goal of losing 50lbs in 22 wks last week. I weigh in every Thursday. I know it can be done, I just have to do my part. That means going to the gym/ getting some exercise nearly everyday. The only way I do it, is (this is kinda contradictory to the planning part) I don't think about it. I just GO! If I sit there and think about going to the gym, I might say to myself, "Oh yah, I should go.... I don't really feel like it tho." So I don't think about it. I just gather my things up and I go with as little thought to it as possible. And before I know it I'm at the gym in the middle of my treadmill workout and thinking, "Wow, I'm here! ...hmmm, I think I'll do some free weights or machines next!" I do have my workouts planned tho, I do something different each time and alternate body parts, but that has gotten easier to plan/remember. I'm having extreme difficulty in reigning in my eating tho. But the small changes I have made have given me hope. I buy the Chiquita Grape & Apple Bites and eat one every day. And I buy the precut veggie packs at the grocery store and try to eat 3-4/week. And my favorite new veggie food is the Green Giant Frozen veggies in microwaveable bags, they were a little weird at first, mainly cuz I was not used to eating steamed veggies, but they fill me up and are tasty. They say 2 servings, but since I have such a hard time getting veggies in my diet I eat the whole bag, I mean 2 servings of veggies can't hurt me!:D I even throw a few French Onions (like from green bean casserole) on the blander versions, for extra yumminess. That's weird! Me, calling veggies yummy!?! Well, maybe there is hope for me! :p And there is for you too! :carrot: My point is, find things that will work for you! These conveinience (i hate that word) foods work for me and they help me get an extra and EASY fruit a day and veggies a day. Wherever your weak points are on nutrition, exercise or whatever find something to add in, modify, filter out... to make your goals become a reality! You can get to your goals, you just got to do it! |
Sun Flower2, your approach sounds a lot like mine!
I agree that so-called "convenience foods" can be very helpful on a weight loss plan, especially for busy people. And I also agree that "overthinking" things like "should I go to the gym?" or "should I eat that XXX?" isn't really helpful. :drill: Do or do not, there is no try! :drill: Jay |
Hey SunFlower,
I just would like to say congrats on the 7 pounds that you have already lost. I think that is GREEAT YAY!!! I am the same way if I think about it I talk myself out of it. I like your idea the not thinking about it part. There is hope for you and me we just have to do!!! We can do this....I would love to lose 50 pounds in 22 weeks..I am going to join this challenge and just go for it. This weekend I did kind of not so great but I am not letting it get to me. So how was your weekend? Hi Jayell .... I know I use the word try .... and you are so right so I am going to do. :) I am ready to be healthy and fit again... |
