First week..

  • So I'm in my first week of watching my calories and what not.. and I wanted ya'll to tell me if I am doing ok so far.

Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled, onions, green and red peppers, a little 2% cheese, and 4 slices of turkey bacon.

Lunch: a Lean Cuisine and maybe a pack of carrots or apples.

Dinner: usually a meat(Chicken or Steak) with veggies.

Snacks are usually fruits and veggies and I drink water constantly.

I've been walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes and riding the bike between 20 or 30 minutes. I know the weight won't just fall off, but when should my pants start to get baggy? I guess I'm just impatient.. but I know I'm definitely eating a whole lot better than I was. Thanks!
  • Doin' just fine! Keep on going!

    Jay
  • Thank you.. I was hoping I was doing ok. I am watching my calories, but not so much as counting every single one, but I guess if this doesn't work I'll have to crack the whip(heh)
  • Hi there. So far, so good! I hear you on cracking the whip.

I don't know for me, "watching" my calories never worked. I always envied those that could stay healthy and keep their portions in check while doing so. I needed (still do) to actually count them or at least estimate them pretty darn accurately. It was the only way for me to know and face up to what I was actually putting in my mouth. And the only way for me to limit my portions. Fitday.com is a great on line calorie counter if you want to take a look at it.

As to when your pants will get baggy - who knows? It depends on how heavy you are to start out with and how much you need to lose. Try to not be impatient. If you stick with a good eating/exercising plan it most definitely WILL happen. Remember, we didn't gain the weight overnight, we won't lose it overnight. But really, sticking withh your plan, being consistient WILL result in weight loss. You'll need to tighten your belt or get new pants all together before you know it. Keep up the good work. Just keep at it.
  • how long was it before you actually began to lose? in the first week, or what?

Yes, I lost in the first week. But really, don't compare yourself to others. You most likely will see results the first week, depending on how heavy you are, but if not, hopefully the week after. Just hang tight and STICK with your program. Eating less and moving more WILL result in weight loss. Just stick with it - like GLUE. Okay? GLUE. Try not to be so anxious. Time really does fly. You'll get there.
  • thank you so much I'm trying.
  • I just finished my first week of counting calories. I am hoping to see some bagginess in my jeans by Valentines Day. It takes time but the weight does come off if you are consistent. Hang in there!
