Out of Control

I am so out of control with my eating lately that I just don't know what to do anymore :(. I did so well from November of last year until mid July (calorie counting). I know I only lost 12 lbs during that time, but at least I was losing.

The last couple of months I have been eating out almost every meal and have put back on 6 lbs. I keep telling my self that "tomorrow" I will get back on track, but tomorrow never seems to come. I do good at breakfast, healthy and low calorie, and then I just lose it. I don't know what's wrong with me :?:. Where did my inner strength go? I don't want to gain all that weight back. I bought some new clothes and now their getting tight. I know what I'm eating isn't healthy for me, yet I continue to do it. I need help. Maybe some words of encouragement.

My plan is to start logging my food again in fitday starting "tomorrow". And this time I have to make this work.

You are here. You STOPPED yourself before you gained it all back. That is the first step! And now you're going to take another step - logging your food again.

You know what to do, and you CAN do it. Post here, keep going, and remember what you're working towards. You absolutely, positively can do this.

You found that strength by coming back here and talking about it. You know what you need to do now. Maybe use fit day to keep track of things. Maybe put away the dinner plates and use lunch plates or salad plates. One serving only. Maybe sit and think about the foods you really enjoy and see how healthy they are. Would they be better for you if you eat less of them. You are already back on track just being here. You have taken the first step to getting back to the routine that helps you be more healthy. Good luck.

What's helped me in the past has been making a pledge to the folks on this forum. You've told us what you're going to do, so we're counting on you to stick to your word! Use us as an accountability factor. Sometimes it's easier to keep a proimise to others than to yourself.

Also, think about making a rule for yourself. Make a committment to eat at home whenever possible. From what you wrote, it sounds like that will make a big difference. If you have to eat out, maybe make a goal of creating the healthiest meals possible.

You can do it!

We hear you! We want to help! Hang with us!

It's easy to just get tired and lose perspective--you've gotten a glimmer of it back. You don't want to lose any more ground. Track your foods--start ASAP. Come up with a plan. You've succeeded before--maybe your foods need to be more varied so you don't get bored, maybe you aren't getting quite enough of certain nutrients--the first step is to assess it. You're going to do it!

We want you to succeed! :cheer2:

Thanks for your replies.

Your words of encouragement help. I do know I need to eat more at home. That's something my DH and I have been talking alot about lately. Not to mention the waste line, it's quite costly.

I also agree that I was getting bored with the same foods. I used to be a good and creative cook. Maybe I could concentrate on learning some new recipes.

I'm going to stay close to 3FC. That always seems to help.

Thanks :^:

I'm glad you're here and posted this. Sounds to me as if you're ready to make the next step.

Make a vow to yourself, that no matter what, for one week, 7 little days, you will stick to a healthy eating plan. In one weeks time, you will be feeling much better about things and WANT to continue it further.

It definitely helps to plan things out. Leaving food to chance is just too risky. We have a great thread going on at the 100 lb club, "101 ways to make chicken". I'll go find it. Okay, here it is:

There are some great recipes there. No deprivation or boredom involved.

And yes, stick around. Just being on this site will help to keep you aware of what your goals are and just how badly you want to get back into the swing of things.

Good luck to you. :)

Don't let minor set backs discourage you. Pick yourself up and try again.
