Alone...
for the next eight months -- DH is off to an undisclosable location that rhymes with "the Fibble Deest"... Trying SO hard not to dive into a pizza with a 1-lb-sized M&M chaser...
sigh... |
Hang in there - I'm keeping you and your husband in my thoughts. And you can always become the MFP of 3FC...Most Frequent Poster! |
Do the wives attached to "such a group" have weekly support meetings that you could attend? I know one of my friends' husband was in a similar location and she found friendship and comraderie through the other wives. Perhaps it would help stave off the cravings to have someone to commiserate with? You've done so well...I'd hate to see you backslide. I wish you and hubby the best.

Aw gee, freiamaya!
Hang on, girl. Don't get down on yourself--things are hard enough, yes? Stay away from the "slippery" foods as much as possible. Jay |
Hmmm...eight months could give you enough time to get even closer to goal! What better present for your man than a new body?? :):)
|
Yeah I was thinking the same thing! Hang in there hun! We are here for you!!

Freiamaya  I can relate.
Next year my (future) husband and I will be separated for about 8 months while the immigration paperwork goes through. We have already been apart 6 months last year. I know it's hard. Last time I didn't do this, but I hope to do it this time when we're apart. When I get to missing him I'll do something good for myself. So if evenings are hard (which they were for me), I'll take a French or a painting class. If I feel like binging I'll go for a walk. That type of stuff. It sounds good on paper, but that's my plan. Maybe try it out. Let me know! Good luck! |
I feel really bad for you. When I was very young, I was married to a man in the army. He would be gone for weeks at a time, at a moments notice. Sometimes no notice at all if I were at the store. Just a note on the table that I would be called. Drove me crazy. I learned how to quilt. Kept my hands and mind busy.

My dh is deployed as well - this is his second tour. I have lost 13 pounds since he left and I still have a year left onhis tour (he's gone for 15 months). This site can help you take your mind off of things and focus on yourself and getting healthy.

A little over a year ago, my husband and I were separated for 4 months during our relocation. I was alone with the kids, etc. I exercised a lot, watched movies that my husband didn't have any interest in, and read a lot of books. :) I read for about an hour and a half each night after the kids went to bed...and finished many novels while he was away.
Just find things to keep you busy-whether it be exercise, taking a class of some sort, renting movies, reading, or what have you. This could be a time for you to learn to be your own best friend, which I think is important for every woman. No matter what-we are all here for you. |
 You hang in there and get your emotions out via walking, reading, re-organizing, doing your art, etc...
You're going to be OK and we're all here for you. Pop in, PM, or whatever it takes to get you through the day, hour, minute, alright? |
:thanks:Thanks everyone for the support -- I'll hang in there. I've avoided MOST of the crap food that I tend to turn to for comfort, and I've even made an appointment with a personal trainer at my gym for Thursday. I'll let everyone know how things go. Until then, I'm hanging on by my fingertips....:(

I will be praying for not only you but a safe return for your husband!
