Welcome firstly to 3fc site.
I fully agree what previous posters have put before me. You will find along your journey that the scales can either be your "best friend" or your "worse enemy". Many times at the beginning I felt like throwing in the towel and going back to my old eating habits but I was encouraged by other fellow losers. I have found out over my 7 months of my weight loss journey that I have developed a pattern which is unique to me. One week I loss zilch and the next week I lose 4 or 5 pounds. It is great to weigh in on the week when it says I lost 4 or 5 pounds but not so great on the zero week. But over time I have come to accept that this is my body and this is how it works. I can not change how it works but in the long run I have lost weight. In 7 months I have lost 66 pound. Over time it will get easier, but take a tape measure and measure your vital statistics and that will also keep you motivated when the scales just don't play ball. |
Purpleorc, :woohoo: That's a great loss! Good for you for sticking with it.

Thanks for all your insight, everyone (and thank you for the welcomes!). I really appreciate it. Seems like I'm just going to have to just take these things in stride as I go along rather than get too stressed out over it (it seems like I've learned more about weight loss in the past week or two than I've known in the past! I wonder if this is why I've had problems before :o) !
Also, a little update: I was a little curious to see if I was still the same as I was yesterday, and I was very surprised to see that I was a pound lighter than I was at the beginning of the week! Talk about strange! |
