Impressed with myself!!!
Alright, so I went to Northern Michigan to stay with my aunt and uncle who I'm going to be living with in a couple weeks. I stayed there for 4 days and I can't believe it....I stuck to my plan!!!!
The first thing I did that was good was go running everyday. Every evening I jogged 3-5 miles. I made my uncle's jaw drop. All of a sudden he wants to go with me and he started taking hydroxycut while I was there. He actually got upset that I didn't ask him if he wanted to go. Then comes the food part. Now...they don't eat very healthy so I knew I would have to compromise and eat their food but smaller portions than what I'm used to eating. I did it, stayed full and I lost weight!!! Actually, I made poor choices a couple times while I was traveling such as Taco bell and a chocolate bar....but I counted them and said "Okay, you did this so it means you don't get to eat a huge meal later"....I accepted that. I mean...I'm actually at the same weight...says the scale but I haven't pooped in a couple days so I'm thinking once that ....*ahem* comes out...that I'll be down at least a pound. Another thing I'm excited about moving is that I'm not going to be worried about losing 3-4 lbs a week....1-2 is cool with me! I want to do this the healthy way and up there I won't be out to impress anyone. I got a great job and I'm excited!!! :carrot::carrot: I've made my diet into my lifestyle guys!!!! |
Hey Sheila,
First I've heard of your move to Northern Mich. Is it for the job you mentioned? Good for you! :cheer2: That will be a challenge for you, since your mom has been your buddy during weight loss. But, you've already shown that you can do it! Just don't go for the Taco Bell too often. ;) BTW, Taco Bell's website has a whole nutrition breakdown for their menu, which you can use for your calorie tracking. Good luck! Jay |
Congrats Sheila!
I had wondered where you disappeared to! |
That is so great! It takes a great deal of willpower to get through that, and you did an excellent job! Pat yourself on the back, give yourself a hug, jump up and down for joy! Great, great job! Keep up the good work!

Congrats!

Actually I came to a realization that I really hate how fast paced Ann Arbor is and I want to move towards some family that I don't get to see too often. I'm so excited! It's so quiet and peaceful up there...I could jog for hours. Seriously. I applied at a temp agency up there and 2 days later they informed me of an AWESOME job they have working for Avon Protection Services...a very clean factory that makes gas masks. It's a government job. :) I guess they're having trouble finding people who can pass drug tests so they're hiring a lot of people. ;) I'm good to go! I also won't have as much access to the internet so I think I need to buy the fitday software....even though I love thedailyplate! I haven't checked to see if they have a downloadable version. Hmmmmm...anyone know? Anything I get from taco bell I get Fresco style...I carry a menu around with me and actually it's not that bad for a couple tacos and a burrito made fresco and the fat is pretty low too. :) For those days I"m in a hurry, it's actually a pretty good choice I've found. I usually only get it if Subway isn't available or close. I always get chicken...never beef :gag: HOpefully I"ll be able to talk to you guys still...internet access will be to a minimum probaby because I'll be working 50+ hours a week. :) |
Sheila, I had no idea you were in Ann Arbor. We are relatively close to one another, I'm in Bowling Green Ohio (about 20 minutes south of Toledo). :)
|
NOw THAT is truly the way to think. ;)

I thought of moving down to Ohio for a while, but I think I much prefer to get away from all this business. If you come up to AnnArbor you definitly know what I'm talking about. I'm sick of feeling so stressed. I can't wait to just be thinking about work and working out. Who knows..maybe I can be a good influence on my family up there to get into shape. ;) |
Congratulations on doing so well! I just got back from Ann Arbor. This California desert gal thinks Ann Arbor is pretty darned beautiful and quiet and peaceful. Love MI!

Did ya like all the construction? :p It seems like every single road and highway is under construction....actually I'm pretty sure they are! AnnArbor can seem peaceful if you're visiting, but to live and work around here. Ahhh!! I worked at Whole Foods for 2 years and it's crazy there...everyone is always in a hurry. You always have this sense of anxiety because your heart rate is always up. :dizzy: Michigan drivers are the worst as well...so rude. Of course I've never been to Cali so it could've very been a nice peaceful change compared to where you live. :) |
 My son says the same thing about the drivers and the construction! There just seems to be fewer cars and people to me than in the urban areas of California that I am familiar with. Of course, where I actually live there are almost no cars and people.

Hey Sheila, not to change the subject, but, um, have you discovered anything conclusive about your morning sickness? Was it sympathetic, or...??
(Yes, I'm very nosy :) ) |

I figure I'll eventually find out....ya know..the usual round and firm tummy appearing....weight-loss stalling. lol No..but seriously, I will buy a pregnancy test...just nervous because I want to be, yet I know it could be a hard thing to deal with right now. (family very against pre-marital sex and babies)...well, some of the family is. I will let you know as soon as I find out!! lol |
