Losing weight

I asked a question 2 weeks ago about starting this weight loss thing and I had gained weight instead of losing weight. Well I started at 195 went to 200 and now I am at 178. This is my question

I walk 1 1/2 miles per day going on a month now and weight train 3 times a week. I signed up for fitday ( I love it, I had no idea about calories- you should see me in a grocery store before I buy anything I look at those calories) I keep to a 1500 calorie diet per day. Is it normal to lose this much weight? and is it safe? Should I up my calorie intake?

Thank you all for your help

Juju

Hi, jujbean41!

Your weight can go up or down 2-4 pounds just from water issues... but if it's really been only 2 weeks, and you've gone from 195 to 178, that's a pretty big drop.

What is your calorie goal on Fitday? Did you to the Weight Goal planning? You're eating 1500 a day now--and how much does FitDay say you're burning? That would be your resting metabolic rate plus exercise, average.

Hey Jay I just went to fitday and looked at the reports and I did not do a weight goal but I did today. I am not really sure how to read those charts but I believe it says I am burning a lot more calories than I am eating.
I do try to keep the carbs low and protien high and watch my fat intake. I want to lose weight but in a safe manner. Thank you for your help

Have your measurements also gone down considerably? If not, I'd check to see if the scale is okay or not. Good luck!
