Thanks, Sami, for the computer lingo. I had a feeling that's what they stood for, but I wanted to make sure.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. How horrible! I couldn't even imagine how awful that would be. Did they get the driver? I pray God brings your heart peace.

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone!
Welcome newcomers!
God Bless you all as we begin 2002!

We've had a busy December, didn't mean to disappear. We lost our Grandfather just before Christmas. He passed away in his sleep at 77 yrs. of age.
Here on our Southern Ontario farm we live side by side.
DH was raised by his grandparents, this loss is that of grandparent and father figure. Christmas was celebrated the best it could have been for our son and our grandchildren.
But, a rocking chair set empty!

As for my weight, I've been BAD, haven't stayed on program.
Haven't gotten on the scales in weeks.
This coming Thursday I shall return with gusto to my point system.
I shall need your help girls!

5 lbs. by Valentine's Day sounds good to me also.

I shall say a prayer tonight for all we Christian"s on this site.
In 2002 we shall work together to spread God's word, grow spiritually, and to loose excess weight. ( No matter how little or how much).

Happy New Year everyone.
God Bless!

Sister Joanne,
Southern Ontario Canada (Sunny, cold, winter wonderland).

Joanne,

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I will sure say a pray of peace in the hearts of you and your family. Death is always hard, but just before the holidays is even worse.

Hang in there. Don't beat yourself up over being "bad" and going off your program. You just pick yourself up and start again with a new day. That's a promise from God...a new chance each day!

Blessings,
Judy

Blessing to all Christians!
I am starting the New Year off OK. I worked New Years Day. And had a nice Healthy lunch with my Co-workers today!

Judy-They did catch the driver but back in 1985 the drunk driving laws were not as strict. His insurance was so low they didn't even want to pay to bury her and that was all we ask. Instead they put us through a lot! I am very thankful for changes in the laws.

Sister Joanne-I am sorry to hear of your loss. But the Blessing is that it is not good bye it is I will see you in heaven!

Ginny and wilma Happy New Year!

Have a blessed Day!
Sami

Thanks for the warm welcome!

So you what to know more about me? Ok here goes!

I am 29, I have a son that is 8, I have been married for almost 10years! My dh is 35, he had a heart attack in 2000 with a 5 bypass surgery afterwards. So we had to get serious about losing weight and eating healthy. He is not fat or unhealthy, so that even scared us more-its all heredity!!!!
I have PCOS, which I have been taking Glucophage for, for about 2yrs. It has helped a lot on regulating my blood work, but not too much on the weight loss. I am 140lbs over weight!!!!!!!
I grew up in Africa, I am an MK. My parents were working in Togo, West Africa.
I hope that is enough about me. If not ask, I will tell you!

Anyway, I am glad the holidays are over, I love christmas and new years, but the food gets me everytime!!!!
I had a real long week end. It was nice, but I didnt want to get going this morning. My son is staying at his aunts house till Saturday, school is still out, so I didnt have to rush out the door as usual!

I am glad to see that I am not the only parent that is a little strict with things such as parties. My son has not had a bunch to go to and he is really too young to care about girls, but that time is coming I KNOW!!!!! I am not looking forward to that at all. I am sure I will be the same way once he does get to that age. 15 is way too young for mixed sleepovers! Even if there are as many adults as there are kids. Some adults I know are just kids in a grown up body!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, enough for now!

Happy New Year to Everyone!!

[[B] I am so happy to be joining a Christian support group. Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a student, wife, mother, and grandmother. I have a goal of 60lbs to lose. I will be graduating from college in May, and I pray that I will have met at least half my goal by than. This is not a easy task, but I know joining this group is a positive step in that direction. I am looking forward to talking to each of you. God Bless

Good evening!
I am such a silly one. I have forgotten to wish you a happy New Year!!!!! (just been too busy)

Meetoo- aren't you something! A grandmother and in college!
I hope that you meet your goal- and even if you lose 20 pounds by May that is a great accomplishment!!!!!!

Judy- thanks for your encouragement for all of us! I hope that we can also be a source of encouragment to you too.

Pravda- thanks for sharing your health concerns with us. You are taking positive steps to change what you can (leaning on the Lord to do the rest!). Welcome again. I hope that we can inspire each other on!

Joanne- I am so saddened to hear of your Grandfathers loss. It is so sad to lose someone dear, and then just before Christmas is so difficult. (my own Dad passed away 17 years ago on 12/16)

Sami- glad that you got out for lunch with your coworkers.
And it sounds as though you started off the new year on a good foot! Stay strong.

As for me- 4 kids went to that party (thanks so much for the prayers, they were answered!!!!!!!!)from my area so we carpooled. One of the fathers thought it was better if he did the drive home at 1 am (from a very rural county),so I did the trip up.
Dd was a bit upset about having to come home (oh, well!) but she did fall asleep in the car on the way home and was quite happy to sleep in her own bed. I do not think that the other parents were that keen on the sleep over idea- but were a bit complacent until I insisted that my Dd was coming home. But it was nice that the others stood with Dh and I. It made it easier on the kids too.
The past 2 days have been tough for me eating. I have snacked too much and eaten some baked goods that I should not have.
Please pray that my diet focus will be restored.
I had better go get some sleep. I will start another thread (I have a tough time keeping up with 2 pages of posts!).
A blessed evening to all!!!!!!!
Ginny
