Hi Leenie,
I understand the frustration of following a diet plan and nothing good happens. My hysterectomy was in 2005 when I was 41.
Six weeks is actually very early in your recovery time. Please remember that you will have swelling in your abdomen that can come and go for several months after your surgery as your body heals. Also, different type of hormone therapy can cause water retention. You may even notice more fluctuations of 2-3 pounds....sometimes 5 or 6...overnight. This is very common as your body adjusts to your hormone therapy and may continue for a while. I still have problems with water retention and the scales are not always my friend.

Many times, I have stayed on-plan 100% and been rewarded with a 2-3 pound gain.) But, remember...its just water, not fat. You're just as likely to get on the scales again a day later and have lost those 2-3 pounds plus more!
Menopause can make weight loss a little more difficult for some of us, but I know women who have had no problems at all. I am losing slowly, but I havent always been as committed as I should be. Losing weight after menopause is not impossible. Please feel free to PM me if you'd like to talk some more. For some reason, we women seem to make light of hysterectomies....like they are no big deal...but, adjusting to the changes in your body can sometimes be overwhelming. I'm here to talk if you need me.
