Measurements going up?
I measured myself a week ago. I decided to see how it was going and I lost
1 inch in the largest (bottom half) section of my belly 1 inch in my waist 1 in in my bust 1.5 ins in my calf stayed the same in my upper arms GAINED and inch in my upper leg..I measure the fattest part of the top of my leg So, why is that? How do you GAIN an inch? I measured right after I did a workout video. When is the best time? Morning? |
Just an opinion that I believe you gain muscle and the extra muscle helps you to burn fat....so you've probably gained some muscle. Don't worry...sounds like you're doing things right and before you know it that fat will be burning! :)

Well actually it takes months and months of intensive exercise to build muscle, soooo .... it's probably not muscle.
More then likely it's an inaccurate measurement. It's very hard to measure the same exact spot twice in a row. It's also best to measure no more then once a month. |
I was going to say either you measured in a slightly different place or if it was right after excerisize, you could have fluid build up there. You know...blood pumping into the areas you just worked out, then of course, the fluids that go into the muscles to help repair them when they are sore. so, you could be just slightly "bloated" there. Sometimes i measure myself and one week i get a smaller measurement and then 2 weeks later, i get a larger measurement...usually right around my belly button. that's where i am having trouble losing the inches. it seems like the fat is hanging onto my belly button for dear life!!!! but my upper waist and hips are fading fast!!!
I'd say the best time to measure is the same time that is best to weigh. First thing in the morning. Anyone else think that is the best time to measure?? |
Yep, I think first thing in the morning is the time. It's when your body fluids are lowest (because you haven't drunk any liquid over night).
