OK, I am ready for my period....BLOAT
The three days leading up to my period, I stay off the scales. Since I got my IUD, I have had bloating for the first time in my life. Despite drinking lots of water and watching sodium, I still have two days of sausage fingers.
Stupidly, I got on the scales this morning, even though I am supposed to start tonight or tomorrow. I can do math. I know how many calories I have taken in, and how many I have expended. I know that beyond these fluid-filled tissues, I have lost weight. I know that NEXT Tuesday, I will be really happy with my results. The wait (weight?) is going to drive me nuts though. So much for delayed gratification. I want to have a calorie deficit of 1300 and see .3 pounds gone-- now! Last week, I was averaging .3 pounds a day of loss. That was a good week. Every fourth week, I allow myself to become frustrated. Maybe I should just get a grip, ya think?;) |
Hey onthetee,
Yeah. Grip. Jay |
I hear you! I am going through the same thing right now. I am 4 lbs heavier and it is not fun. Its also really discouraging because I am getting worried its going to stick with me.
|
I'm going through it now...just have to let it ride. I would say "go with the flow" but... :p But I got on the scale just out of curiosity to see how much it fluctuated. 4 pounds. It went up 2 immediately before and 2 more during. I didn't binge and I've been exercising a decent amount during. So I'm looking for the payoff when this is over, lol.
|
I have mine now also- it sucks! Fortunately, the scale has stayed the same/lower, but I FEEL huge!
|
I usually fluctuate between 4-6lbs during my time which is next week. I bloat like crazy. The sausage fingers I can deal with but I hate the look of my lips that tend to look like I just injected them with collagen.
|
I totally feel ya! After I got my IUD it was like starting puberty all over again. No real advice here, since you know what to do.....wait!!
Personally, I get swelly toes as well. |
Yay for IUD's! :D I love mine.
But yeah, having a natural cycle has its downfalls. My 4-6 lb of bloat goes right to my stomach, so I look like I'm 7 months pregnant, and feel like crap. It's great for scaring the boyfriend, though. I'm so impatient for that bloat to go down, though, so I can see my real weight...so, I know where you're coming from. X_X |
here's my advice for all of you BACK AWAY FROM THE SCALE    ...i know we are all a bit obsessed at times...but we all need to stop jumping on the scale multiple times a week. Don't you think its hard enough trying to lose weight without freaking out over weight gain:dizzy: ...over a week it all seems to flucuate. I too know i bloat during tom....but i accept it...and just move on. Trust me..i try not to weigh during that time...that's usually why i weigh on wed...works best for me and my body.
