Everyone has given me so much feedback! - I can't thank you all enough... it's really helpful to know what has & hasn't worked for others. I plan to bring a lot of this up at the doc's tomorrow! - and if nothing else, ditch the Prilosec for something stronger!

Thanks all!

You are a trip woman! LOL

I dont mean to make light of your illness but that WAS funny.

I hope you feel better and find something that works for you.

P.S. Where is that beach located?

I really hope you feel better soon

I used to have terrible acid reflux. When I started losing weight, I was on SugarBusters. Cutting the sugar, wheat and yeast pretty much took care of it entirely.

Your symptoms sound very similar to my son's problems last fall. He was getting sick on almost everything, so eventually I just had him on chicken noodle soup. Turns out he has Celiac's disease and an intolerance to casein (protein in dairy). What I was feeding him was the worst thing possible. He is totally pain and symptom-free now on a gluten-free diet. Because his stomach and intestines aren't so attacked by gluten, he can tolerate a small amount of dairy. His doc and all the reading I've done support the conclusion that about 30% of people who are told they have IBS actually are gluten intolerant.

Just another idea.

Hope you feel better

Speaking of gluten, maybe this can help: I've bought some millet the other day at the supermarket, and it's gluten-free. That may be one more food to add to the list maybe? That, barley and quinoa seem to do wonders for a friend of mine who has IBS, too -- although I don't know for gluten when it comes to the latter two.

I'm glad I could make you giggle! - I TRY - REALLY TRY - to keep my sense of humor no matter what kind of crap is going on in my life... including pain. :)

That beach is where I live - "Tybee Island" - my address is Savannah, but I live on Whitemarsh Island, which is about 10 minutes from the beach (oh, what I wouldn't give to live ON the beach!) It's a sleepy little island town, not much to do, & I like it like that. :D

I had terrible acid reflux too - the last time I was "overweight" - but when I lost the weight, it all went away - the reflux, the IBS, the pain - everything. I've lost 18 pounds on this go-round, and just started with the pain & stuff a few weeks ago. You'd think I would have been having pain back in January when I was 178 lbs. Weird.

I've been having Slim Fast & soup... Chicken Noodle, Vegetable, & Tomato. It's all I can stand right now. I've wondered about the gluten thing, because the Slim Fast that I'm drinking is "lactose & gluten free" ... maybe that's why it doesn't hurt me. :^:
