When I started to walk I gained 4lbs in a week, but then i did some measurements which is very important and saw I lost an inch in my stomach, and in my thighs.

I also found I gain 4-6lbs when it's close to that time of month. At first it through me for a loop but i got back in it.

Don't let it frustrate you if your ring doesn't fit that is a sign you are doing something right. Don't stress just keep going, make sure you are eating enough and drinking enough.

I highly recommend tracking what you eat in FitDay, if you aren't doing so already. I have always eaten healthy food, but I didn't realize that my portions were too big...that's how I gained all my weight in the first place. :(

I also recommend measuring inches and % body fat (if you can), as you will see the changes there even when the scale doesn't budge. :)

As for me, I started working out 3-4 days a week, and noticed a 3 lb drop in one month...the next month, I started calorie counting (1500-1700), and had a 7 lb drop! I now eat 1400-1600 most days, and exercise 5-6 days a week, and I'm still losing.

thanks for everything, everyone. It makes sense to me mentally that you would need to eat a certain amount of calories a day to lose weight. However, it's really really hard for me emotionally to do so. I tried to do Fitday, but i saw it as another chore to add to my list. I understand i need to make certain committments. Thank you all again, I'm so glad i found this site. It is so much less painful going through this, knowing that other people either have been through or are going through something similar.

Jayel i have one more year in my program. 4 classes this summer, 3 in the fall and 3 in the spring. My program prides itself on its intensity and rigor...lucky me. :)

A nutritionist told me that you should drink a glass of water within 15 minutes of waking and eat something (like a banana) within an hour of waking.

This will get your metabolism fired up and ready for the day.

I think you aren't eating enough for breakfast. Why not two pieces of ww toast with your egg? Either low fat spread or no sugar jam would be fine with it.
