Can water make this much difference?
Tuesday I drank 6 16 oz bottles of water, and Wed morning weigh in was a new low for me - 153.0. :carrot: I was really excited because I thought I would end up with that for my "weigh-in day" weight - so a 1.8 lb loss. Wednesday I ate about the same as I did on Tuesday, but I didn't drink as much water. Today's weight was 153.7. Could drinking less water really have caused that much of a difference? Thanks for the help. :)

Yes. When you don't get enough water, and eat a fairly normal to high amount of sodium, your body holds onto extra water to keep your sodium concentrations in your blood and cells correct. Drinking lots of water flushes out any excess sodium you're holding along with the water you pee, thus resulting in your body needing less water to maintain the sodium concentration, and less water held in your body = less water weight on the scale. More sodium and less water = less water and sodium leaving your body = more water weight on the scale.

Water makes a lot of difference, and so does fiber. Both help the body eliminate the fats and toxins from the body as the body burns the fats during exercise and during everyday activities.

I agree. I firmly believe alot of my success even when my food and work outs aren't totally on plan, is the 138 oz of water I drink daily. If I eat a bit more salt than normal, say a stop for chinese, I up the water by the amount I ate.

Thanks for the help. I guess I really need to pay more attention to my water intake. I'm not a huge fan of salt, so I don't think that's an issue. Angi - WOW! 138 oz of water! You must feel like you're floating. :D Well this week I'll set a goal of 6 bottles of water every day and see what difference it makes.

Just wanted to chime in too - I had really neglected my water intake and yesterday drank about 64 oz of water (that is TONS for me) and today my weigh in was 207.8, after a weigh in yesterday of 209.6. YAY! Definitely gotta keep up the water thing and not let it slide...so what if I have to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes?? ;)

After a few days/weeks of drinking more water, your system kind of regulates itself back to a slightly more normal urination schedule . . . like every hour instead of every 1/2 hour . . . ;)
