And so it would stand to reason that if the way we are living as a society leads to a longer life expectancy, then we must be doign something right, right? However, for the first time in history, today's American youth have a SHORTER life expectancy than their parents, so now we're moving in the wrong direction!

its true US has maximum obesity rates even though US popultion focuses most on healthy food...but doesnt US also have one of the longest life-expectancies than most countries....???

I'll just say its very complex!
I couldn't disagree with this more! Early man didn't die of problems related to cholesterol, cardiovascular problems, etc and that's because these problems are ALL related to diet. I suspect that early man maybe died from animals, falls, diseases that are no longer of issue in our modern society, etc; not to mention, there is evidence out there to suggest that early man lived much longer then we originally thought. Even though we are living longer today due to advancements in medicine, sanitation, safety, etc. we are most certainly NOT living healthier! Half of this country is on medication after medication to help with problems that, most of which, can be helped or even cured with a proper diet. I also think it's FAR from the truth that the US focuses the most on healthy food. In my opinion, we are focused the most on FOOD but the LEAST on HEALTHY FOOD! Just my opinion! It's a shame, really. Big Pharma and big businesses get WAY too much say with their dollars. They "buy" the right to advertise what is healthy and what is not whether it's actually true or not!

Ok, I'll get off my soap box now...
