Salt and weight loss

Hi Ladies~ Read this interesting article I came across:
http://www.examiner.com/x-46457-DC-D...ease-in-Sodium

Does salt play a role in weight loss?

The article mentions the very important role of salt and high blood pressure or heart disease, and how much sodium is in the food we eat when we eat out. It can be a very scary amount!

But the article doesn't mention weight at all because sodium doesn't affect weight loss. Sodium can cause water retention resulting in a few extra pounds of water weight. But it has no effect on fat loss. You can eat a high sodium meal tonight and wake up weighing more, but it's just water which will be gone pretty quickly. Your true weight will not be affected.

Thanks Suzanne! I just did a search of the entire forum on the word "salt" because I've been really curious about that. I know that I should watch my sodium intake for other health-related reasons, but I wasn't sure how (or if) it affected weight loss.
