Hi there! I lost 20 pounds following the E2L plan in the fall but with recent holiday splurges I've gained 6 pounds back :-( But I've committed to the 6 week plan as of Dec 31st and so far so good (I know, its been like 2 days, right?) I really enjoy eating this way though my family isn't so into it so not sure what to do there....

So today I've had
B: some strawberries, blackberries and cantaloupe
L: Dr. Furhmans anti cancer soup (which at home I call lentil zuchini soup:-) ) & a large salad (romaine, celery, cukes, carrot, 1 large tomato)
No snacks yet, but when I do it'll prolly be leftover fruit &/or baby carrots. I know that the book is against snacking but I'm nursing a 2 year old and I get really hungry in the afternoon so...

Good luck everyone! & nice to meet you

Is anyone here still doing ETL?

I started this past Monday after reading the book and doing some research on the plan.

I was a vegetarian about 15 years ago in my early 20's for a few years mostly for animal rights reasons and still don't eat red meat except on the rare occasion if it's cooked in something but not by itself.

My husband likes meat but he's open to trying non meat dishes for these first six weeks. He eats lots of fruit & veggies too.

Please let me know if there are any ETL'ers still out there:)

Ditto on the Re-commitment

I've recently gone vegan again and also started making my own food from scratch. But... I haven't increased my activity level, and I think I'm eating too much fattening stuff as a vegan -- particularly, today I made a vegan coleslaw out of pre-crinkled cabbage and vegenaise. Very tasty but not on the healthy side. Also, yesterday, I tried to bake bread for the first time in my life. I ended up eating most of it yesterday and the rest today. So, here's my commitment to a healthier way of vegan eating.

First, I'm going to commit to a regular activity level. My university offers free exercise classes and I plan to get into them tonight. Next, I plan to start the 6-week Eat to Live Challenge, and once that is over, I will have purchased the book behind all this and be changing my lifestyle according to how they recommend. I know everyone's struggle is different, but I plan to make the most of it and create a diet and nutritional plan that leaves me feeling healthy and not bogged down by gaining and losing a hundred times over.

Okay, so tonight for dinner.... I'll have...

- One plate swiss chard, sauted with vinaigrette salad dressing, carrots and tomatoes with tofu added to the mix

- For dessert, part of the fruit salad I got at Albertson's...

Then for tomorrow morning, I'll again have the fruit and a glass of plain soy milk.

For lunch, a mixed green salad with baked tofu, alfalfa sprouts, cherry tomatoes and carrots...

For dinner, cooked kale with yellow squash, zuchini, mushrooms and a small side of avocado + a glass of soymilk...

I hope I can stick to this. I will also be starting a journal on the journals section, so help me on the motivation, 'cause I'll seriously need it.

Caio.

Hey guys I have the E2L book and I have never really followed it 100% because I'm so weak and food has a tendency to control me. :(

Anyway, my question was about the snacking. On the e2l you are not allowed to snack at all, even if it is fruit or veggies?? And if so, why is that??

I might be joining you ladies sooon!! We'll see....

hi Temple body,

Your really not suppose to snack between meals. He wants you to experience true hunger. If your snacking between meals chances are your over eating and not letting your body experience true hunger. I'm sure this program can work for you. Have you read the book yet? It goes more in detail about snacking and true and toxic hunger. I encourage you to go for it you can do it.

there is a yahoo email group and Dr. Fuhrman has a web site that you can join similar to e diets with a message board and such 34.00 to join and 7 a month after the first 6 weeks. Im the morning I'm starting my second six weeks since January. so far I have lost 20 pounds on ETL it's very good.

I am on! I reviewed the book (got it during last summer... a shame I didn't do it and stick to it.. I'd be so fit already.) and I made a grocery list for 3 soups, 3 mains, 3 spreads (beans, eggplant - I like to "dip" my lettuce), my breakfast smoothies and lots of produce. I can't "start" till Saturday, but I already have alot of the principles down packed. I'm always eating beans, fresh produce, and cooked greens. Hopefully, I can take some pics of my food before I eat it and share the recipes. haha that can make me accountable :P

I'm planning to restart this. I need some serious motivation. I was vegan a long time ago and got out of the swing of things.

I'm hoping to make some positive changes this time around. I'll get the book later on, but for now I'll just start the 6-week challenge.
