I was very excited to see Kashi Cheeseless pizza in the freezer section this past weekend. It is hard to find cheeseless pizza and I'm kind of lazy so I don't make my own pizza. I know others do but I would occasionally like pizza, not spend too much money and have it be easy. Amy's was the only vegan cheeseless pizza I knew that was out there and I found it to be too sweet.
The Kashi pizza had 220 calories per serving (1/3rd of the pizza). I added a couple veggies and a little smoked tofu to it.
Its actually better than the Amy's cheeseless pizza (well taste and nutrition). It is interesting and probably adds to the calories that the sauce is a bean puree, probably for added fiber/protein.
Per serving:
Amy's is 270 calories, 9g of fat, 42g of carb (2g fiber), 6g of protein.
Kashi is 220 calories, 5g of fat, 37g of carb, (5g fiber), 11g of protein.
Kashi pizza with cheese is 290 calories and up.
Oh and it was cheaper too. I paid $5.99 where Amy's pizza is $7.99.
Cheeseless pizza does not sound apptising at all. The best part about a pizza is the cheese! This is why I can never be a Vegan. I can not give up cheese. Although I love soymilk and soyogurt maybe I should give soy cheese a try?

Have you ever actually tried it? My guess would be no. It's actually quite surprising in the fact that you do NOT miss the cheese. Try it before you knock it okay?
Also, If you're veggie for ethical reasons then consuming cheese and dairy products is truely just as bad as eating meat.

I would also say try it before you knock it. Traditional pizza has very little cheese, if any. American style of course is gobs of cheese. I used to love cheese but I do have to say I love cheeseless pizza.
What if instead of 'pizza', I said it was this large round piece of good bread, covered with a delicious sauce and topped with grilled veggies? I guess that doesn't sound very good?
Most vegan cheeses aren't the greatest, For your heart isn't bad but the new one Daiya is pretty good. Personally, I'd say try it without any cheese. I think you'd be surprised.
I'd also agree that eating dairy is worse than eating meat.
I like cheeseless pizza, but I tried the Kashi cheeseless pizza and thought it was awful I thought it had a weird flavor.
I make my own, and use lots of bold flavored veggies like roasted garlic, roasted peppers, sundried tomatoes, wild mushrooms, grilled squash, anything char-grilled, and so on.
Cheese-less pizza is very very good, and I still eat the occasional dairy. Years and years ago, in high school, we would have pizza night at my parent's house. My meat and cheese loving family thought I was insane for ordering a veggie pizza with no cheese on a thin crust ... until they tried it. It became a family favorite. Even DH, who loves his pizza Chicago style, digs the cheese-less thin crust.
Cheeseless pizza doesn't sound appetizing to me, either, but I'm guessing that it might be fine. There is a girl at work who is allergic to all things dairy and when we go to pizza she gets cheeseless Canadian bacon pizza. She seems to enjoy it just fine!
Here in the Philly area we have what they call "tomato pie," which is basically a thick square pizza, very large, cut into squares. It's pretty much tomato sauce with spices, no cheese, and very popular.
