Great Job :cheer::devil:Veggie Vixens :devil::cheer:
Come on guys lets keep up the great work!!!

Urthwurm-I'm sorry to hear the difficulties you are going through!!! Hmmm... check and see if there are food pantries in your area! I know where I live they are all over the place and there are lots of canned veggies and other foods.
Haley- I hope your surgery went fine!!!

Well guys I tried hard and went down to my SW of 224, but had a tough weekend. It was my mom's bday so we celebrated with CAKE and CHAMPAGNE!!! ughh (sigh)..Now I am up 1 pound (225), but now I know what I have to do to work it off!!!!

***Good Luck Guys***

jillnicole03 03-04-2009 04:31 PM

Justhave2try... you can do it!! Work it off girl :)

twish 03-04-2009 07:27 PM

Hi ladies,

I am posting to vent and as an alternative to getting into the car and driving somewhere where I can buy yummy chocolate. Must distract myself till the shops close! I am so hungry right now- even though I just ate and satisfied. I am hungry from the place that only chocolate can fill, thanks to TOM. This is the first time I have felt really hungry since I started a week and a half ago. I ate a bit more today (extra piece of multi grain bread and a couple of extra spoonfuls of dal (Indian lentil soup/stew)). Drank a V8. Doubled my almond snacking. Some part of me still wants the chocolate.

That actually worked. I feel better after putting that out there. And, I just remembered that I have a small dark chocolate square in my jewelry drawer (from a dinner somewhere?). Maybe that will do, without doing too much damage!

My best to you all in your struggles and triumphs!

Darby1 03-04-2009 07:59 PM

Hang in there, Twish! You've been doing so well; don't let TOM undo your hard work!

Jushave2try 03-04-2009 08:01 PM

Good Luck Twish!!!
Sometimes I just cannot resist myself either!!!
Yesterday I went to Whole Foods, went to the bakery/pastry side (I was playing with fire) and there it was a VEGAN NY CHEESECAKE!!! I bought it and ate and felt soooooooo GUILTY!!!!! Kinda felt like I let myself down!
So today is going to be a hard night at the gym!!!!

**I wish you all good luck and everybody is doing a GREAT job at supporting each other*** Thanks ::):

iriswhispers 03-04-2009 10:39 PM

o my gosh... do tell... how was the vegan cheesecake??? i LOVE cheesecake!

today was a tough day because I am out of coffee... will get more this weekend. Tomorrow I'm considering splurging on buying a cup. I never do that cos i'm trying to watch my money and I can't really afford it, but me without coffee in the AM is not a pretty thing!

zinkemomx2 03-04-2009 10:39 PM

Evening everyone. I've been trying to get my house reorganized and have been attempting to stay of the computer a bit. Food for the month has been pretty decent.

We are supposed to have quite a warm up for the next 4-5 days at least so hopefully I can get outside and get some exercise. I've also put a bug in DH's ear that I want the treadmill fixed. I know I could do it myself if I get desperate but it will give him something to do.

My TOM started this morning. It explains the whoosh of weight loss I saw this morning. My body is weird that I experience bloat during ovulation and then drop pounds when I actually start. My weight hasn't been this low since August 1st of last year when I was rebounding from a very disastrous Atkins experience.

Haley8203 03-05-2009 01:13 PM

twish-:hug:

Hey everyone, I just got home a couple hours ago, I had to spend the night in the hospital so they could monitor me since I don't have another adult at home with me. Everything went well, I'll get the results in a week or so. I didn't eat anything yesterday I just didn't feel like it and that never happens lol. today my stepdad brought me to denny's for my birthday I ordered a veggie burger and fries, I ate about 10 fries and I brought the rest home. I have a race next Saturday that I hope I can do even if I run slower if I'm not in pain or at least not so much that my meds wont help then I'm gonna go for it!

Jushave2try 03-05-2009 11:59 PM

Haleygirl-It is great to hear you are doing well!!! Good Job!!! :cheer:

*Well to night I went the gym and was working real hard and I am glad to say the number has gone DOWN!!! I am excited to weigh in on Friday!!!

~~~Lets Go :devil:VEGGIE VIXENS:devil:~~~
Fat Chick B Gone 03-06-2009 07:05 AM
Twish - I think having a small piece of dark chocolate is a great alternative to going out and having a whole huge bar! Sometimes you just have to have a bite or two of chocolate ;)
Sorry Seitan's Sweeties - I'm up this week at 204.6. I'm not really surprised with TOM and my overeating this week. Honestly expected worst! Time to regroup and keep going!
I have a 5k tomorrow and I haven't really run in about 3 weeks. I've jogged with the pups a little on our walks and pretended to jog a little on the treadmill (gawd so boring). So I'm a little nervous. My throat is also very sore this morning so I'm afraid I might be coming down with something. Hoping not!
Have a great Friday everyone!
Haley8203 03-06-2009 07:21 AM
Fat Chick B Gone- Good luck on your 5k
somehow i gained I'm 287 I don't understand even when I eat less in the week I still don't lose
zinkemomx2 03-06-2009 08:09 AM
Unfortunately I am up this morning as well. Yesterday I was 241.5. Today I am back to 243.7 :eek: Yesterday was full of bad choices. I am choosing to forget about it and move on with my life.
Jushave2try 03-06-2009 11:27 AM
Good morning Veggie Challengers!!!
Well I feel like everywhere I go I'm signing on to 3FC to see what is going on!!! I love 3FC!(I sign in on my phone, home, work, and at school, LOL! :)) So I was wondering if anybody had any ideas what I can do for breakfast for my son. He's almost 1; his b-day is on the 28th of March. Oh yeah he has NO teeth yet!!! I am really running outta veggie ideas for him to eat in the morning! So any ideas I would definitely appreciate!!!
TTYL :hug:
shananigans 03-06-2009 11:28 AM
Weigh in - 176 same as last week. Oh well.
Fat Chick B Gone - Hope you have a good 5k, if you haven't really been training for it just try to have fun, enjoy the crowd, and don't worry about your time.
I've got almost 2 weeks of my half-marathon training under my belt, just my long run on Saturday left for this week (6 miles, yipe!), today is a rest day. But I'll still be getting some exercise when I clean the entire house after work today. We have a good friend from out of town coming to stay with us and we're hosting a little get together on Saturday night. I'm excited to see her, not so excited about all the cleaning and laundry.
Still need to weed some of those little extras out of my diet. Problem is, with all this running I am hungry ALL THE TIME. It sucks.
iriswhispers 03-06-2009 02:24 PM
still 135...
and back to work!
joyra 03-06-2009 05:43 PM
Whoa, isn't it weigh-in day? Where is everyone?
My WI this week is 156.2
Haley8203 03-06-2009 06:01 PM
hey everyone. i took my bandage off this morning, my daughter was next to me and she says "oh no they almost cut your head off" gotta love kids! but seriously its about 5 inches across my neck, eek! hurts like heck i arranged for my daughter to be at my moms tonight so i slept all day, im gonna sleep all night, all day tomorrow and night lol. the body heals when you sleep right so im trying to get in as much healing time before school starts back up on monday!
Jushave2try 03-06-2009 06:29 PM
Wow Haleygirl!!! I hope everything heals well!! What kind of surgery did you have? I hope you feel better :hug:
Haley8203 03-06-2009 06:57 PM
Jushave2try-thanks! They removed the left side of my thyroid......
Darby1 03-06-2009 07:15 PM
Haleygirl-I hope you're feeling better!
Heather-good luck with the 5k!
My scale is on the fritz; keeps blinking zero. I think it just needs a new battery, so hopefully I'll be able to weigh in tomorrow.
twish 03-06-2009 08:03 PM
Haleygirl- take care and get as much rest as you can!
Heather- good luck on the 5k. I hope it's not too cold where you live and that you have good weather for the run. Remember that we're all cheering you on!
I started a herbal cleanse today- no coffee (I can have it, but not with milk and sweetener so I'm just skipping it), no dairy, not bread or wheat products... I've done it a few times before and feel terrific afterwards. But still, the next 12 days will be a challenge... it ends on St. Patty's Day!
Weight today= 157
kierr 03-06-2009 08:31 PM
My weight is going down a little, after hanging on for a long time. I'm pretty pleased. I'm no longer technically obese. ;)
Bad news though, our gym is closing. Good thing the weather is starting to get warmer, so we can go out and do things. It is a total bummer though. The things going on in this country are so scary right now.
Haley8203 03-06-2009 08:35 PM
Darby1 & twish-thanks!
Darby1-good luck with ur scale
twish-good luck with the herbal cleanse
kierr-That stinks about the gym
lentilbean 03-06-2009 09:39 PM
oh no! i'm not doing so hot this week in the weight loss department...
I really don't know about kid nutrtion but some soft ideas - oatmeal, grits even, cereal in a lot of soy/almond/whatever milk, smoothies?
Mine has needed a new battery for over a month - thanks for the reminder. Hey maybe it's been weighing 10lbs too high due to being on the fritz :p
Good god I'd die w/o coffee. Why don't you use a non-dairy milk?
:carrot: Way to go on the no longer obese!! I agree things are scary and it saddens me that people tend to let diet and exercise go first. IMO those should be the things you DON'T sacrifice!
5k - I sucked a big fat one. But I did it and it was a good kick in the rump to get back into exercising like I was instead of this sporadic crap I've been doing lately. Gorgeous day here! I've got to go to the office for a bit then going to sit outside and soak up the sun. :beach:
Haley8203 03-07-2009 11:13 AM
Heather- My 5k next week will suck too so I already feel your pain lol
lentilbean 03-07-2009 12:04 PM
poop! i'm up a pound this week. it's time to get serious!
erinmagill 03-07-2009 12:28 PM
Hi guys...sorry for the late weigh in.
Im 207 this week, so down 2lbs again:D
Im so close to onederland and pre-peregnancy weight I can feel it!
And Justhave2try....
Is your son omni or vegetarian or vegan?
Im raising my son (7 months) vegan
Jushave2try 03-07-2009 03:57 PM
Hi Guys,
ErinMagill- My son is a vegetarian, but my b/f and I are talking about heading toward Vegan-ville. I'm still thinking about it though...
Hi teams!!!:wave:
I am glad to say that my weigh in this week is.......... 222!!!!:carrot:
I am so excited b/c it is 3lbs less than last week's weigh in!!!
*Gosh, I now understand what my problem is, I thought I was doing everything right. I was exercising to the extreme and what I noticed was my food choices. I have such a sweet tooth and I feel like I don't mind indulging in that crap!!! Ughhh...so my "abusive relationship" with sweets is officially OVER!!! I know we have been struggling sooo long to be good to one another, but sweets you are causing me more pain than good. You are making me work harder on the stair master; I am aching and cramped after a workout!!! I am glad to announce to the world our break up!!!
Sincerely,
Jushave2try!
p.s. I don't mind if you visit when Tom comes around b/c I surely do understand what great friends you two are!!!!
Darby1 03-07-2009 04:01 PM
Hi,
A new battery didn't help my scale! I had it in the bathroom, so maybe it got wet. Anyway, I'll just go with my last weight (I think it was 214.5).
I'll have to get a new scale on payday. And find a better place to keep it!
iriswhispers 03-07-2009 04:06 PM
jushave2try - congrats on breaking up w/ the sweets.... and recognizing they might come to visit once a month or so! =) I am craving sugar like crazy right now, darn PMS!! I just went to the store and thought.... "oooo... organic carrot cake..." but I skipped it. Being on a tight budget right now is actually helping my diet a lot!
rdw1 03-08-2009 11:05 AM
Hey Guys! My weight doesn't seem to be budging much but I think TOM is here too for me! UGH. I will be out of town this week so don't know if I will be able to post my weight on Friday but will try to do it as soon as possible! Hopefully it goes down by Friday- and hopefully there is a scale somewhere there!
CHICKpea3241 03-08-2009 07:27 PM
Hii
I weighed in at 147... i think that its down 1 lb from the last weigh in. I have to be good this week:carrot:
You all are doing great!!
rdw1 03-08-2009 08:27 PM
Just realized I didn't post yet for this week... 211.2, down a bit from last week but up from where I was in the middle of the week! hope it goes down next week while I am on vacation! I ordered a pedometer, and I am sure being in Chicago I will be walking a ton! would be nice to be able to keep track of it!
jillnicole03 03-09-2009 02:18 PM
jillnicole03-How was the drive?
I jogged on the treadmill today and after a mile i had to stop because my sweating was causing my wound to have a burning feeling, i suppose because of the saltiness in the sweat....i have a race on saturday what the heck am i gonna do:(
Darby1 03-09-2009 06:39 PM
Hey Jill-happy to be back?
Haley-I don't know how you can run after you JUST had surgery!! But I've had that horrible stingy feeling before on my skin. I'd had some moles removed and the doc said I could go back to working out. Ouch! Maybe you can wear a turtleneck or something around your neck to catch the sweat?
Justhave2try-good job on the weightloss! I just went back and read some posts and saw yours. Awesome. (I know what you mean about the sweets too-I need to break up too!)
I'm hanging in there. I've been slacking on the exercise, so I'm jumping back in tomorrow morning.
jillnicole03 03-09-2009 07:39 PM
The drive was good, it omly snowed a little luckily for me. I love books on tape now! If you haven't tried it, it's a must ;)
Darby-- I feel like a slacker now too.. I've been extra hungry grr
