Trader Joe's Meatless Beef Strips

Hi veggie gals!! I am not really a full time vegetarian but cook that way most of the time since my daughter & dad are and I just really have gotten to like that way of cooking -- especially how cheap & healthy it can be!

Anyhow for awhile I had these TJ's fake beef strips in the fridge, like a lot of fake meat, I felt spooked by them, LOL. But!!! I HAD to use them as the use by date was coming up, and...YUM!!

I guess I un-vegan'd them using worchestchire sauce (anchovies!) but there is a veggie version of that, or you could use soy sauce -- basically I sauteed them in a hot sprayed skillet with the Lee & Perrins and lots of black pepper, then combined with some leftover brown rice, broccoli, onions, chili garlic sauce and cashews, and threw a some fresh mint and cilantro from my garden in it.....IT WAS REALLY GOOD! Like take out...BETTER! Highly recommended!

I only used half of it and looking forward to using the rest....only $3 a package too~

9 strips: (beef stroganoff type size) have 120 calories and 20 grams of protein!

I've tried the chicken ones, which we just ok, a little bland. I'll have to try the beef ones next time.

I just made this last night: Vegan Corned Beef and Cabbage - it was FANTASTIC. Just thought I'd add a recipe recommendation along with the recommendation for an essential ingredient :)

Thanks I'll try those. I LOVE Trader Joes SoyRizo. So good in tacos, on potatoes, etc.

The soyrizo makes a really good crockpot stew with anasazi beans. I just add some peppers, onions & garlic and let it cook all day. The soyrizo seasons the whole thing nicely.

Thanks for the tip! I'm not sure if I've ever had anasazi beans, something new to try in the new year ;)
