Okay - I'm looking at mangling a flapjack recipe that has bananas in! I think I might still use the butter and syrup but add some protein powder... We'll see next time I'm in the kitchen! Maybe Thursday!
I'm so impressed you're marathonning! :D Well done! I'm a bit achey and dehydrated from yesterday's efforts! That was my run and then teaching kickboxing, which I ended up doing quite a bit of kickboxing since the other instructor was feeling ill. It's all good! Ok I'm off to find some squash... |
Hello all, I walked 7.5 k's again some of the way to work, so I do listen to you all. My plan is to do it again tomorrow, then swim the other two mornings, and I gymmed it last night too.
I haven't done any baking in a year. I love baking but even if I find healthy recipes I am still tempted to overeat. Maybe I've changed and it'll be worth a try. YP you have been abducted by aliens and reported by scary fit person. I think that might have happened to me too, only scary fit people leave the house all decked out in running shoes and gym gear at 5.45 in the morning! |
 I'm surrounded by scary fit people :yikes:
NOTHING would get me out of the house at 5:45... Except perhaps chocolate ;) |
I didn't have chocolate yesterday!!! Except Rosemary Conley chocolate pudding which doesn't count!
I was going to have frittata for breakfast this morning, but decided on porridge to galvanise me against the cold on my walk, and I'll have it for tea. No exercise tonight, except maybe some core stretches at home. Before seeing scary swimming buddy to collect my Avon. Pretty make up!!!! |
I don't know what I did to myself yesterday - assorted muscles keep going in to cramp. I must have been woken up at least a dozen times during the night with one bit or another of me in agony! The most painful cramp was in the muscle at the top inside of my thigh - DH thought I'd gone nuts when I started hopping round the bedroom clutching it! :dizzy: I thought my walk would sort it out a bit but I'm still all achey. Time to figure out how the massage pulse jets thing works in our new shower! I keep wondering about the RC choc puds because everyone says how nice they are. Luckily chocolate isn't a problem for me, if I eat more than a couple of squares and it gives me a headache. My problem has always been savoury foods, especially cheese. I haven't done any baking for a long while, either. DH is getting a bit moany about that kind of thing so I might make him a cake - he's also been moaning about not having a steak and kidney pudding recently either. Well, I'll soon find out if all my exercising, etc, has had the required effect. My doctor's nurse, whose doing my medical on Thursday, just phoned to say my notes have come through from my last doctor and I've been flagged up to URGENTLY have tests done for thyroid, BP, cholesterol and diabetes - luckily I was booked in for that medical on Thursday! :dizzy: |
I bet its the yoga doing that to your inner thighs. Our yoga teacher warns us all the time about how vulnerable our inner thighs are, and makes us warm up and rub them down very thoroughly.
Chocolate is my achilles heel, so the puddings are useful for me, but if you're not a chocaholic, I wouldn't bother. Save the 100 calories for something you'd really enjoy! It'll be interesting to see how you score at the doctors. Nearly lunch time!! I'm having an early one today. |
 Frus knows the perils of inner thigh things! Box splits are the worst culprit for yanking precious bits about! :tape:
I'm hungry for my lunch, just an hour to go!! I've eaten 2 oatcakes already to try and stave off the hunger, I'm trying to bloat myself out with Pepsi Max now! ;) |
Well - that was interesting - I've found out that the new shower does a kind of pulsing massage. I could have stayed in there for hours.....
I just did the Fitness Personality Profiler at spark people website - it was very accurate for me, said I'm an 'Independant Thinker' type and has given me a few ideas about what kinds of exercise to try next. I've been thinking about it and I might treat myself (or let Kevin treat me) to a Tai Chi DVD. I did enjoy the Qui Gong class yesterday but I can't face falling over in front of the little old ladies again. BTW, is it me, or do all little old ladies have the same hair do?? |
Oooh I've found spark people! It's WAY better than fitday - only thing is all my custom foods are in fitday! :tantrum:
|
Nah Spark People is rubbish! It thinks half a cup of oats is 303 kcals when that's the value for a whole cup!! Also, it thinks that half a cup of kashi is 30 odd calories, but 27grams is 100kcals, whereas when I last weighed half a cup of kashi... guess what - it was 27 grams! Gah!
Back to fitday! |
When we're little old ladies, we'll make sure we don't all have the same hair. I think there are two little old lady hair dos, grey and curly or grey and straight! :)
Why have I never heard of Spark People? What a fab website. I couldn't find the fitness profiler though. I had sweet and sour chicken for lunch, not the healthiest choice, but not worst either, and no dessert!!! |
No I couldn't find the fitness profiler either... And that's what I went on there for!
I'm going to have pink hair when I'm a LOL! Dave's been to Costco and there's usually danish pastries to contend with in the kitchen at work. However today there are NONE! :yikes: I don't know whether to be pissed off or pleased! On the way down to the kitchen I thought, "I don't need one, I'll be good." But now that there aren't any I really want one! I'm thinking I might get some Maltesers before kickboxing... Only thinking at the moment mind! I might end up not! I'm so tired :tired: at the moment. I think it was the running! I'm glad I'm having the day off on Thursday, I need more sleep  |
I don't do my food in Spark People - I've got a battered old notebook and calorie booklet for that. Every now and then I check my food groupings on FitDay to make sure I'm headed in the right direction but I'd go nuts if I had to check carbs/protein/fat every meal. I use Spark People mainly for the exercise tracking, especially the Strength Training bit. You can customise it for what exercises you want to do and when and you get a little video of the exercise so you know how to do it properly - I haven't got access to a gym and trying to learn form from a book was a right waste of time. I also like the resources section which is where I found the fitness personality profiler.
|
I found it, I'm an Independent Thinker too. I wouldn't bother tracking my food in it, I use paper and head for that. I hate Fit Day. It just doesn't suit me personally. The info and exercises are really good. ANother thing to while away my time with!
|
Oh and I did the eating one, I'm an emotional eater
not! |
