A diet is for life, not just for xmas, in other words! My bet is, the minute that woman comes off the Cambridge Diet - she will revert to the old habits that got her fat in the first place... and pile it back on. The GI diet, on the other hand, re-educates your eating habits/behaviours and is healthy in itself. So long term is sustainable.

That is not always true...I have been doing Cambridge since September...I lost 4 stone in 4 months...I went off for the whole month of December and did not gain any of my weight back...I am back on now because I have 6 more stone to lose and its been the best diet I have ever done...With any diet it requires a change in lifestyle...The plan she was doing was the sole source which is only three shakes a day...However, you gradually add food to your diet until you are eating 1500-2000 calories a day...I know several people who have not "piled it back on"...It is not for everybody and it takes alot of will power to stick with it, but there are people who have been very successful with it as well...
