New Years Eve Challenge

OK, so I didn't do well at the last challenge - I maintained, so not too shabby, even if I didn't achieve much!

So I thought, don't jump on the bandwaggon - set up your own challenge.

So here it is: it is 10 weeks (and a tweence) until New Years Eve.

Whilst that could 10lbs loss set, I think I'll be realistic - I do like choccies, biccies and lots of other "ccies" too!!

So I reckon 6lbs is NYE (New Years Eve).

That will mean I will have been under 200lbs for a whole year, and I'll get to be closer to 13 stone than 14 for the first time in my married life (after the honeymoon that is) - 16 years!!!!!

NYE!!!!!! That's like wishing Christmas over before it's started. I hate NYE (ok I hate everything it is true) :p Do I have to weigh myself on NYE? I may be drunk and forget :dz:

10 should be easy :hot: :nose: :chin: so I'll go for that. :snail: :ziplip: :sumo: :blah:

I'll go for ten too - my weight loss has slowed to a crawl this past month despite my sticking religiously to my diet and exercising well - something's got to start moving soon!!

So I'll aim to be 175lbs by New Year's eve - which will be a 55lbs loss altogether.

Janey :p

I'll pledge a measly 5 lbs, not lost anything for ages, and I don't think much will go in December!!! But I'll try my bestest!!!

YP1 10-20-2005 05:11 PM

I think I'll aim for 10(.2)lb down to 175 too.

I'm pledging 5lb loss or under 12st :D Either one sounds good to me!

Hey Veggie - there was a joke in there "The end is NYE"!!!!

Christmas - homemade choccies, cake, nuts, savoury stuff, red wine and pigging out, in this house we WILL get fat - along with the non-avian goose!!!!

Actually we are discussing veggie alternatives, but the chestnut loaf I did last year was disgusting. Any ideas, oh esteemed Non Meat Expert????

veggie 10-24-2005 08:02 AM

I never have veggie alternatives at Christmas I can barely get through all the potatoes and stuff I get served up.

kykaree 10-24-2005 02:01 PM

My mum always made a vegetarian lasagne for Christmas, and used cottage cheese mixed with eggs for a sauce (it was delicious) we only had one veggie in the house, my sister, and long after she returned to her monivorous ways, mother had to keep making the lasagne as it had become a Christmas tradition!!!!

Long as I have my croissants, scrambled egg and bucks fizz Christmas morning I'm happy.

God every NYE I stand at the window watching the fireworks and telling myself this will be the year I will lose weight.... it never works.... I always fail....

veggie 10-24-2005 05:20 PM

At least you're still trying (like me) ;)

kykaree 10-25-2005 01:48 AM

And you're very trying!!!!! ;) I make a New Years Resolution each year, but this year I've kept it, don't give up!!!

stef 10-25-2005 05:13 AM

So that's the trick of being veggie!?!?!

Snaffle all the bestest bits of everyone elses meal????

I'm in! Roast potatoes here I come!!!!

My bestest find this year - talking of the whole New Year thing - is very food oriented. As a lecturer I often have to reassure scared new students that they are overthinking the course. I tell them that they are trying to eat an elephant!!

I suddenly realised (how slow am I) that this is exactly what I am doing with the whole weight loss thing - seeing the whole elephant (full length mirrors should be banned) and panicking cos I can't see how to get rid of it all at once!

So I am following my own advice, and chewing that elephant one mouthful at a time!

Do you know it feels like I have let myself out of gaol for free!

1/2 lb per week is all I need to do. And it is feeling easy! Mind you only time will tell!

veggie 10-25-2005 08:59 AM

Yes I always get extra Yorkshire pudding and roast potato. :carrot:
