Our WW leader said that was a really bad idea. If you don't eat food but have alcohol then you get drunk quicker and then you won't be fully aware of what you are doing and will just eat food anyway!

For me it's not a problem as apart from the odd glass of wine I don't really drink. God help me if I had to use my points for alcohol as well as food!

 Thats EXACTLY how it is Toot

Yvonne, I'm wondering if you might need that bacon butty  you have'nt been eating much at all have you? :yikes: maybe your metabolism is a bit screwed up with having so few cals? :dunno: have you been getting all your points in? you're not going below your minimum are you? if you are then i'd suggest upping your intake to make sure you're getting your minimum pts ;)

As for drink  i'd be thin again if I could stop drinking beer  thats where a lot of my cals come from :( 4 beers = 600 cals (approx) AAAARRGGGHH! :faint: but thinking of that does'nt put me off :nono: i'm a stupid :moo: :lol3: i'm trying to give up the couple a night that I have and save them for the weekend :kickcan:  sometimes it works sometimes it does'nt

Hi Yvonne - it's so awful when that happens, the scales are soooo mean somedays. Try and keep feeling positive (hard, I know) and don't let it become an "oh well, I've gained a few pounds -what's the point, eat, eat, eat ......etc" which I have done so many times and that couple of pounds becomes a ½ stone. Even if you do end up having a curry, try and watch what you have the rest of the weekend and dance the night away, that'll definatley help, then get straight back to it the following week.

At the end of the day, you've got to socialise and carry on living life, it's just trying to adapt it when you're dieting. I always find that my events come in batches and week after week I've got something happening and my (very gradual anyway) weight loss grinds to a halt - AGAIN!

Take care, keep smiling

Thank you all for being so supportive. :grouphug:
I really am lookin forward to visting my friend and England, I have my shopping list ready, (low sugar Vimto yum yum, tea bags etc...)
I will be brave and stand up to her (she's a bit bossy :coach: ) and might accept the bacon butty (w/o butter) but turn down the curry.
And if I stumble a bit, I'll just have to cope with that when I return.

I think I'm going to have to start writing my food down again, :write: That way I know when I eaten all my points and also when I've cheated.

:goodluck: have a good weekend girls and I'll report in next week.
TTFN

How come I never had a weight problem when I lived in England :?: I "lived" at the chippy and binged on chocolate all the time :rollpin: something weird  happened to me when I left :( and I forgot to say that CADBURYS TURKISH DELIGHT is my fave :T

MadamDotty 03-11-2005 11:27 AM

Cat - wash your mouth out - saying all those "naughty" words on this forum :tape:

Oh no, too late, the words are running around my head and now I'm dreaming of chips and Turkish Delight (but not together!)

I, too, like Tootoot, take Sunday off. I usually allow myself to have whatever I want. Normally, just knowing that I have that freedom to have a higher caloric intake, even a treat, allows me to maintain a loose control without the guilt of "going off plan". Since it is a part of my plan, I don't feel so panicky about it, and usually don't go as far off as I had been in the habit of doing if I fell off accidentally. It is also easier the next day to be straight with my plan. Our goal is to get healthier, and if we are going to keep the weight off, we have to be able to live with ourselves and our plan. Besides, guilt causes stress; stress causes fat.
