Slimming World changes?

A new plan in the new year I have heard. Anyone else heard anything about it? Might just be a small thing but I look forward to seeing what (if anything) changes. ;) I guess they change it a little every so often so we all buy the new books, on the other hand maybe it is in response to the new WW plan (but that has not launched here yet I don't think). So maybe just a new book! :?: :p

MelissaA 12-10-2004 11:56 AM

We have not gotten the new books yet, but apparently they should be handing them out in meetings in the next few weeks, we don't have to pay for the new book although I assume there will be some cook books and stuff to accompany it...My group leader went over the basics which are that you can continue as you are with normal food optimizing, or you can use the new choices, like mixing green and red, and something to with eating whatever you want in very specific portions...Apparently the SW founder said she was bored with the program and wanted to offer members additional choices if they want...Its been tested at SW headquarters and people are losing 3-6 pounds a week in the trial...This is what my group was told, can't wait to try some of the new choices, I seem to be in a rut at the moment...

veggie 12-11-2004 01:05 PM

My sister better come straight round and show me the new book when she gets it. :D

MelissaA 12-11-2004 02:17 PM

I know I can't wait to get it!! I am in a serious rut at the moment and am feeling at the end of my rope!!! Hopefully with the new plan I can get out this plauteu...

Superwitch 12-28-2004 06:23 PM

Oh this is good news. I really need a boost at the moment. Pretty much let the diet go at the beginning of December with all the parties and stuff. Have put on so much weight it is unreal. I am going to start afresh on January 2nd. Am looking forward to the new plan.

MelissaA 12-30-2004 04:52 PM

Got the new plan tonight!!! Basically, you can continue as normal with red/green or you can do one of the other options...There is the "success express" and "mix2max" success is basically portion control, and mix is just mixing green and red...You do a red or green at each meal but the in between snacks have to be common free foods on both days...I am likely to do the mix one, not so big on portion control...LOL

Superwitch 01-01-2005 05:40 AM

The Mix and Max sounds great as most of my snacks are neutral items anyway. Do you still get as many syns? I like the idea of being able to have cooked breakfast, then Pasta for lunch and Ship for tea sort of thing. I very rarely do Red days as I don't eat much meat but it would be nice to just have one meal in a day.

Do they think you lose weight as fast on the new options?

veggie 01-01-2005 11:49 AM

Apparently my old group leader put on weight doing it  but I don't think she follows the plan properly anyway ;)

MelissaA 01-01-2005 05:16 PM

They are saying that when it was tested people were having 4-6 pound losses...Who knows?? The syns are the same 5-15 per day...I will probably try the mix2match, I will let you know how it goes after next weeks weigh-in

veggie 01-04-2005 02:07 PM

Hope it works for you Melissa :D there's always the old plan if it doesn't. I feel sorry for new people to the sw plan it's hard enough to understand at first as it is! ;)

Kelly M 01-04-2005 02:37 PM

Hiya!

Check the website out for more explanations...I dunno what I think yet...am gonna stick to red and green days for bit longer - they good for me.

Happy New Year all
x

MelissaA 01-05-2005 02:52 PM

I think I will stick to what I know at the moment...But, at least it is another choice if I want it...

Princessslim 01-05-2005 04:32 PM

At Last!

Finally found some fellow SW butties! I've just joined Body Optimise on the net (I live in germany and my german is :?: ) it doesn't give you any of the new options just the original and green, but my mum is a member in the UK and has just tried the new stuff this week - she didn't get on with it at all, she lost the plot so to speak!
I've just had first weigh in and lost 5.5lbs so am thrilled.

Superwitch 01-05-2005 05:12 PM

I have to say that I quite like the look of the new options especially the Mix2Max. It is my first week back at SW and so I am sticking to Green at the moment but as soon as I am back into the swing of things I will try the new options.

I put on 9lb over Xmas sohave to work really hard.

nuttynurse 01-06-2005 06:22 AM

Hi I'm new here - I got my new sw stuff on tuesday but after doing red/green for so long I am having trouble getting my head round mixing them - it will take time I supppose

veggie 01-07-2005 01:56 PM

I've got my hands on the new book (borrowed sisters). I really may rejoin soon. ;) I want to feel healthier again!

MelissaA 01-07-2005 02:50 PM

I like the mix2match but have totally blown it this week!!! I think I am falling off the wagon...LOL

veggie 01-08-2005 08:41 AM

Don't fall too far! My clothes that were very baggy seem to fit me now. :o

MelissaA 01-09-2005 12:51 PM

I think I caught myself just in time and that coupled with food poisoning over the weekend gave me a 4 pound loss...LOL

MelissaA 01-21-2005 09:38 AM

Been doing mostly green or mix2match and am losing consistantly!!! I was just about to jump ship from SW but I think I am definatley staying...I have lost another 2 pounds this week!!!

cat90 01-21-2005 02:13 PM

Well Done Melissa :cp: I don't get the Mix3Match :chin: does it mean you can have a 'green' lunch and a 'red' dinner? :dunno: cuz I looked at the website last week and the meals look the same to me

veggie 01-21-2005 08:16 PM

I think it does mean you can have a red then green meal. I do have the new book (thanks sis ;) ) but I never take much notice of the red plan bits.

Ok...yes in the sw book the mix2max meal plan for a day has a red breakfast, a green dinner and then a red tea.

MelissaA 01-22-2005 10:20 AM

Yes thats it, you can have a green lunch, red dinner or whatever...Its nice because its easier for me to do a green lunch, but dinners are always difficult because I end up making dh something different...This way I just have a meat dish for tea and everyone is happy...

cat90 01-22-2005 04:13 PM

:thanks: Girls :) I like the idea of that much better than staying on Green or Red all day  I found I got bored when I ran out of healthy extras  I might just have to try this plan again ;)

veggie 02-01-2005 07:00 PM

Give it a go Cat might work. I counted my syns today I had 41  15 were wine though. I might be going back to my old group next week. :dizzy:

viviki 02-03-2005 02:34 PM

Is the mix2match any good. My dad was doing slimming world but hes getting to the stage where hes not maintaining that well. I was telling him about the new plans (he only has an old book ) and he thought the idea was quite good but they are still quite pricey on ebay so I'm hanging on for a few opinions before buying him one.

cat90 02-03-2005 08:58 PM

Ooooh Yeh..go back Veg :cheer: you were doing so well :) i'd go with you if I could  I'm going to give it a try for sure ;)

Viviki, I don't think he'll need any new books :dunno: its basically the same thing only you can have a red brekky (or a green one) then a green lunch (or a red  ) then a red or green dinner :cp: I think it will work much better for me than the old green day and red day did :D

linus 02-04-2005 11:39 AM

someone fill me in i knew ww had a new plan but didnt realise slimming world had one too im still sticking to the plan as much as possible
kirsty

MelissaA 02-05-2005 06:10 PM

Baisically there is the old standard green or red which are the same...Mix2match allows you to mix...So you can do green lunch and red dinner...The free foods you have throughout the day must be free on both red and green though...If you have a sinned item you must use the sin value thats higher when counting...For example, if you have a seafood stick which has 0 sins on red and 2 on green you would count the 2...The other option is bascially portion control where you have to fill your plate a certain way so that the sinned food only takes up a certain amount...Not sure if you have seen that plate that has the markings on it for the portions you should have?? Its basically like that...I am not one for portion control so I don't bother with that one...The mix2max is great though!!

linus 02-05-2005 06:23 PM

thanx all i did wonder but for some reason even though the weight-watchers advert is on every 2 seconds i must have missed the slimming world one ill give it ago even though im pregnant now i have no intention of putting on as much weight as i did with my first son
kirsty

Moira 02-06-2005 04:57 PM

Hi I'm new here!! I first did slimming world in 1997 when I lost 5 stone in a year!!
I started again seriously last July and have lost weight every week since then. I have only 2.5lbs to go to get to my target. I obviously should have found this group sooner!!

BritinNJ 02-06-2005 11:11 PM

Hi moira :) Welcome... well done on your fantastic loss... keep with us while you maintain when you reach your goal too....

Moira 02-07-2005 12:45 PM

Thanks Chris, I'll need all the help I can get when I get to my goal, I think maintaining is harder than losing!! ;)

viviki 02-07-2005 01:50 PM

Oh thats brilliant he can do that ok then. Cunning.

cat90 02-07-2005 08:06 PM

Hi Moira  Well Done on almost reaching your goal :bravo: I suppose you'll be back bragging next week that you have eh? ;)
