Has anyone tried cafe slim?
Hi I am wondering weather to join a new website called cafe slim which gives you a calorie counted plan tailored to the foods you like. I think it costs about 20quid a month. Has anyone tried it? Is it worth the money?
Thanks I would love to hear what other people think of it. Here's the link http://www.cafeslim.co.uk/ |
 WW (and others) is/are much cheaper and the ww one includes meal plans it is £29.85 for 3 months. I haven't heard of cafe slim but it seems very expensive. :)

there are sites around on the net that can give you meal ideas for weight loss free of charge. i use freetrainers quite a bit for ideas. it might take a you a few hours to sort out a whole months food but hey thats £20 quids worth of booze lol

just checked out the site link seems cosha but its basically the same price as a months of WW and at least then you get the meetings and meet people as opposed to not bothering to check a site when your depressed

I need a meal plan
Thanks for your advice veggie and slimmingsi.
I'd love to find a cheaper plan! I took a look at the freetrainers website. But I was disappointed that it doesn't actually include meal plans you still need to decide what you eat. It seems to be more like a way of recording what you eat - like fitday. I live overseas so I'm not able to join a ww club and I worry that maybe I wouldn't be able to buy the special branded ww foods here. Does anyone know of any other (cheaper) plans that don't rely on special foods but that do provide a meal plan? Thanks!! |
HI Slinky,
Where overseass are ya? I follow WW although I'm not doing very well this week...being a bit of a piggy if the truth be know. Anyhow, if you need some tips on points and what foods to get away from home, I know most of us can help you. Let us know :) |
Hi BritinNJ!
I'm living in Taiwan (North East Asia) Most of the local food is very bland. So I need to cook myself. The supermarkets are quite well stocked with a variety of foods but nothing is calorie counted and there are not many low fat versions of products available either. So I'm looking for a plan that suggests lots of recipes which I could make from veggies/ meat/ pasta / spices etc and freeze. |
OK, hope this helps. Hope you have a pair of food weighing scales too.
1 ounce of meat = 1 ww point (cut any fat or skin off) 3oz potato= 1 ww point (if boiled, cooked in fat free spray or baked) All veggies are free except, corn, peas, corgettes, swede, turnip and parsnip. 1 cup of these usally eaquals 1 to 2 points. Raw carrots are free, but if cooked, they cost 1 point cos of the sugar. I drink skimmed milk for my cuppa's and 1 cup costs 2 pts a day You say there's not much low fat food there, how about yoghurts? Now I did buy a yog here a few weeks back and it said LF, but when I totted the points up, it was FIVE POINTS!!! And the usual ones that I eat are only ONE! I hope I have helped, I think you'll do just fine, especially if you consume loads of veggies to fill you up. That seems to work for me, and I've been very slack this week and need to get back on track............rolling pin please Cat! |
