Still here. Sister's car wouldn't work. Wouldn't care but it is only a couple of years old and has spent as much time in the garage as it has out. I would never buy a car brand new from peugeot down here after the service she gets from our local garage.

Kids were really upset about being let down at the last minute so have to take them somewhere nice today.

Oh, thats a shame Super I would be really disappointed too it could be worse she could have a YUGO! I think they should call them DON'T GO it sounds like more of an electrical fault to me than the starter motor How are you doing with the driving? Have you not passed your test yet? Why did'nt you use your little car? I'm a nosey Hope you have a nice day out anyway

Happy Birthday Connor

I'm just watching the Calgary Stampede Procession on telly, its huge I keep saying i'll go to that one of these years. I've been there once it was on the last day of the stampede so I did'nt get to see it the phone rang and it was stepson asking where we were so we told him Calgary and he said "you'd better come home quick cuz i'm back from my friends" the little blighter had been staying at his friends in Vancouver and had come home earlier than expected we told him it would take us 2 days to get back and told him to stay with a friend until we got home and the little bugger threatened to smash the windows to get in the house he was short of a clip around the ear if you ask me spoilt brat! anyway, we had to cut our holiday short and go back home so i was off with him he'd lost his keys for about the sixth time and could'nt get in turns out he's left the keys at his mates and he sent them back to him in the mail it was obvious they were housekeys cuz they were sticking through the envelope anybody could have gotten them Thank God he has his own place now so I don't have to put up with it anymore unless we go away then I get back to find out what he's wrecked while we were gone

I haven't taken my test yet. Unfortunately my sister only has a licence for an automatic and my car is a manual. My sister is bad enough in her own car. If she had to drive an unfamiliar car all that way we would never get there alive.

I have booked my test for September but don't think I will pass first time. Fingers crossed though.

We took the kids up on Dartmoor today to make up for not going away. We met my sister in law and her husband with their youngest child and took a picnic. We had to eat the picnic in the car as it rained heavily as soon as we got anywhere to eat a picnic. It brightened up though and we managed to take a walk up to one of the tors.

I think it a good idea to let people who can only drive automatics ONLY drive them its not like that here most of the cars are automatics and usually people take their test in them but once they've passed they're free to jump in a manual some of them are clueless and can't get their "clutch bite" you see them rolling back down hills I know a few people who can't drive manuals and a friend of my hubbys was surprised that I could drive the truck

Hi all,
Been busy here this week so far. My new jo is going well, I took on a new kid this week and he kept me very busy for two hours, trying to find ways to entertain him to stop him from throwing dining room chairs! he's a busy boy to say the least.
Got to curves this morning and really enjoyed my workout. I need to plan my days better as it seems I'm not getting there as much as I would like right now.
It's humid here today and 83 degrees, we had loads of rain on Monday, absolutely horrible to drive in (which of course muggins was doing). And it led to horrible flooding in our area, loads of peoples houses were under water, cars were rolling down roads that had become rivers. So horrible to see people clamber out of the bedroom windows into row boats to be rescued and to think of how many things they lose with all the water damage.
I can drive a manual and an automatic, I prefer to drive a manual, but over here I have an automatic as they are cheaper to buy and for insurance as well. People here are also surprised at me Cathy when they see I can drive a vehicle with gear changing involved! Makes me feel rather bloody clever though
Right, must go and have a shower and become all clean again after a sweaty workout.
Hope everyones doing great, has anyone heard from Carol, she seems to be MIA again.
Where are you Carol???? Come back and natter soon. We miss ya.

Phew! Have just cut the grass and attempted strimming with the new strimmer, it sort of got away from me at times so the edges are a bit wobbly, no doubt Dave will make comments when he gets home from Boston!
Didn't have work this morning after all, so thought I'd stay busy round the house, I count grass cutting as extra exercise too! Like housework!
Right, have to go pick kid up from camp, will have to go green and swaety and have another shower when I get back

Hiya Girls

Not heard from Carol Chris i'm glad you're enjoying your job its weird that people can't drive a standard/manual is'nt it? I take it for granted and they think it's brain surgery

I don't know what to do with myself today I can either dig a ton of crap soil out of the greenhouse and put some of the 'mountain' in there or I can go on a roadtrip and have a nice day out I fancy the latter cuz i'm rather annoyed with hubby at the moment he is fixing a huge excavator for this guy and the guy's assistant is up here everyday working alongside hubby. The problem is after work my hubby always cracks open a cold one and I don't mind that cuz he works hard and its hot outdoors but he's supplying the assistant with beer too and its costing a fortune! I wanted to know how he managed to spend $1000 last month cuz they only go for lunch and drink beer after work he did'nt have a good answer for that and told me its none of my business anyway cuz its his money then yesterday the visa bill arrived and I was furious because on top of all the cash he's spent he'd put another $200 worth of beer on that!! Now i'm really and I think that I should go out and treat myself too The problem is he is too generous for his own good and some people take advantage of the fact they know that they can come up here and drink FREE beer anytime they want and it pisses me off I feel like shouting to them "Buy your OWN damn Beer" I think now would be a good time to go out and buy myself anything I want because he won't dare ask me where the money has gone

Hello all,
Haven't been around much this weekend, like the rest of you it seems. Hope you're all doing well.
I've had a sad weekend, a friend who I grew up with died on Saturday morning. She was daignosed with cancer about 18 months ago and has valliantly battled it and tried revolutionary new treatments and been so brave. However, she was deterioting quite rapidly and as she went to her Mother's house from a shopping trip for her daughter's birthday, she went into cardiac arrest.
I think i'm still in shock, I've had a few good blubs and I've spoken to her husband, but it seems so strange.
Of course eating has gone downhill, and no exercise at all apart from dog walking, but I'll be back on track today.
Oh yes, on the news the other day I heard that some medical faction has now said that obesity is a disease. I'm upset about this, not about the people who have thyroid probs and such but for just plain ordinary fat people like myself. They've just given me the key to the door to say, don't blame me, I don't eat the wrong foods or too muc, I have a disease. That doesn't work for me. I'm fat because I chose to eat the wrong things for years, didn't exercise regularly and was ok with myself for it. Now they're saying I'm not accountable for my actions, but I KNOW I AM!!! Sorry rant over
Anyhow, everyone have a great week, get in here and chat please, I need some company

Aaaaww I'm so sorry Chris that SUCKS! and the worst part is you don't really know what to say to the relatives well, at least I don't apart from the usual condolences etc and that does'nt seem enough somehow

I don't know about obesity being a disease so much as an epidemic we all know that its because we eat the wrong stuff not cuz we're all sick otherwise we would'nt be able to lose it would we? changing our eating habits would'nt help and it does so we're not sick, just FAT little greedy buggers
