fat and fed up, need some motivation

Hello all,

New here, well haven't been on for a long, long time. I'm really fed up with myself, I need to lose 7stone and was doing okay at weight watchers but since christmas the scales have been creeping up and have put a stone back on. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any tips, amazing stories, kicks in the pants are most welcome;.
Pippie. ;)

I am in the same situation I lost over 2 stone at ww and last november lost all motivation, quit WW and have gained back 1.5 stone - scary.

Only tips I can offer are

Write everything down that you eat
Drink lots of water
Think about why you want to lose weight
post here and get lots of support
Don't beat yourself up about the gain

stand naked in front of a large mirror worked for me throw in an extremely sarcastic son {not at the same time} and youve got great motivation

HEY PIPPIE - JUST GET ON WITH IT!

So there's the kick! How are you doing in yourself?

Carol has some great advice - write that food diary. You cannot hope to get back any sense of proportion or control until you honestly evaluate what you are doing TODAY!

Write it down for at least 3 days, try to include the weekend, and have a look at each thing you eat:
If you don't do breakfast regularly start there!
If you eat snacks or extra meals of unecessary things have a look at the meals you eat BEFORE the extras - are you being too GOOD and making it impossible for yourself?
Do you keep tight control of everything you eat and then binge when no-one else is looking? Relax your control and make smaller changes until you no longer need to binge!

Whatever you do just make small changes to 1) regain control and 2) start lose weight again. No heroic measures, you'll never manage to keep them up. Small simple changes made over a good length of time will be most productive in the end.

In the mean time - don't hate yourself. You just haven't found the right way for you yet. It took me years to even WANT to lose weight, I never really dieted (well except for a couple of months before I got married) until Jan 2nd this year. I am currently at 12lb loss and my secret is simple - I am not dieting, I am changing my eating and exercise habits - SLOWLY! These changes are going to be for life, so I can't go too overboard cos I won't be able to keep them up long term.

Good luck, I hope to read you later,
