Hello remember me I've been missing for a few weeks following some tests I had done for diabetes. My blood sugar came back slightly high but my blood pressure came back as astronomical. So off I tootled to the docs, have had blood pressure measured every week, and it has gone down but still not enough. Have had more sugar levels tests taken, had my cholestral measured, my kidneys and liver checked out and then today the final test (I hope) an ECG. Tomorrow morning I am back at the doctors, with all the tests coming back fine, I am hoping that I will be able to persuade her not to give me medication, but let me work on my diet and exercise and see if that reduces it. Am going to put all my cards on the table and ask if we can even do it as a trial, say for 3 months and see what happens. Do really not want to start taking tablets as apparently once I start them I will be on them for life.
Besides that all is fine in my life. Hello to everyone and welcome to all the new people. Now that Kirsty has confused you all with bucketmen and so on. I'll just start talking about putting the messages on the bunker and inviting you all to come ben, as you'll have had your tea. Maybe you would prefer a glass of ginger though.
On a serious note was absolutely fizzing at work today when the guy I was supposed to be working with didn't show up and I ended up having to do everything myself, but then thats men for you
See you soon

Hey Carol!
Another one in the wars! I have recently had an ECG too. Did they "sandpaper your bits?" before they stuck the wires on you? Or perhaps I just got special treatment!! I had a blood test and chest x ray too. Won't have results yet but I have to go back on tablets. I dunno what with us and Teel.....

Chris I think I will come over there and join the hormone twins. No actually I do feel the cold but I am very emotional indeed at the moment. I think I am in a peri menopausal state and galloping fast towards it. I don't mind being a snappy angry ***** at everyone but I cannot cope with being a grizzly tearful emotional mess. Not good especially without a blood good reason. Still I am off to look after a friend on Friday who will be going in to hospital to have hernia sorted out, then off to my beloved Hampshire to see the folks. Yay!

I am back on track, thanks for the telling off Sheila Hope you feel better soon when you're over your drug thing.
Welcome back Carol, we certainly did miss you. I think you're doc will say yes to your self trial of diet and exercise before saying you need to take the pills for diabetes. My Mum was told tot ry diet and exercise and she has regular check ups and hasn't had to take the pills. She's doing really well with her levels
Hormones levels were raised again today at work, but not with the heat or cold today, just differences of opinions. Of course, it was me who got the brunt of all the blame, but it's not me, everyone apart from one women agree (I've had trouble with this one for three years now). But, I'm not stresssing and I'm not eating due to the turmoil either I am strong, hungry, but strong. It's nearly dinner time and I'm ready to eat. Healthily of course
I wondered where Cathy had got to? Cable probs eh? Hope she gets them sorted soon, I miss her
Right, hubby is serving up, he's so good to me, I love him so.
Later everyone

Awwww, its nice to be missed Chris no i did'nt have cable problems really it was just the one telly that the cable box is hooked up to all the rest are fine. I changed the cables and it seems to be working OK so we'll see. Did'nt get online yesterday cos i went on a big shopping spree hubby has invited lots of people to visit us this year which is fine but he should have thought it out first considering that we don't have any spare beds so yesterday i bought lots of new bedding and duvets and today i went pricing beds he won't be too happy about what he's got to fork out to put his clan up but Hey he should have kept his gob shut, should'nt he?
I've not exercised since Saturday cos this bloody foot is killing me just aches all the time..i think it could be a fallen arch (i think thats what they call it) as i remember doing it to the other foot a few years ago hopefully it will improve in time
Hiya Carol, its good to hear from you again i hope you're back for good now.
Got to check on dinner.

Sure sign it is getting warmer, my aches and pains are back with a vengeance! Most people find their rheumatism gets worse when it rains. Nope. Not I or my Aunt. We both dread summer as it gets bad then. WHat I cannot understand though is, I had a blood test and it came back clear for Rheumatism/arthritis whatever. So did my mum's. Hmm. SO my mum is faking it when she is practially carried around the supermarket by my dad is she? Something weird here. I have nagged her to ring the GP for a referral to a specialist. NOt only does she have problems walking, she cannot stand up for very long as her legs give way. She also has a problem with balance (basically due for the knackers yard). I have a vested interest in the outcome as I am hurtling down that road myself. I have definatley had rheumatism in the past. As a toddler I was in and out of hospital with it as I could not walk.
Anyone else had a negative blood test for something they know they have? Bloody doctors what do they know anyway. They are all younger than me now but then so is my (professor ) Boss. What is the world coming to? In the past you could always rely on Professors being white haired bumbling fools! My Boss is one year younger than me (and rubs it in at every given opportunity!)

Awww Linus! I want to hug your son. He actually sounds like a real sweetie! At least he speaks up for himself. I never did at school (I was a real mouse) and was picked on by teachers (never mind the fellow pupils!). One teaher had it in for me (perhaps my quietness disturbed her) and she decided that as Icouldn't pronounce TH (just like every other kid in the class I might add) that I should go to speech therapy. NOt a particularly good thing for a very shy kid to go through. Try saying anything when you know as soon as it leaes your lips you will be criticised for it. I just clammed up in the end. However they sadi there was nothing wrong with me. The teacher seemed surprised and my mum told her that I was reading my dad's book s at home. Incidentally what wass wrong with the school? WHen you are top at your class in reading, spelling and you help out other kids in your class would you assume that the kid had a problem?. There would be no way in **** I would put a child of mine through that. My mum was far too soft. I would be an absolute ***** on wheels so just as well I have no kids! Linus, I thnk you are doing just fine with your son. Give him a hug from me!
Oh yes for got to say this particular teacher was having an affair with the married headmaster. Lovely.

Evening all, went out for a curry at lunchtime as one of the woman in the office is leaving to have a baby. Am absolutely stuffed right now, not the best meal to have in my diet plan, but that's real life.
Steven (aged 6) is driving me up the wall, he seems to have reached that whiney stage, nothing I do is good enough and all he wants to do is ignore me and misbehave. Kids why do we have them
Am determined to get in some exercise tonight was going to go for a walk but it is bucketing down now so will either need to find something warm and waterproof or find alternative exercise inside.

Hi Girls,
I've just hobbled 2 miles the first exercise in 4 days and my foot is going nuts is'nt it a bloody nuisance when you want to do one thing and your body has other plans I've been bad this week and eaten a dozen of those cadbury's caramilk and creme eggs i just can't resist those babies and everytime i go shopping i seem to throw a pack in my shopping basket.
Carol, you should be pleased that you have maintained that is hard to do.

Carol, well done on maintaining. You'll be losing soon, I just know it Cathy, sounds like you need to rest that foot luv, and put some warm compresses and then ice on them.
Sheila, I had a friend who was on that oxycontin and he had a terrible time coming off of them, but he did it and is so much better off for it now, you'll be as riaght as rain soon, and Peacock, you don't sound too good with the reumatism either, I suffer from arthritis in my left shoulder after an injury to my rotator cuff a few years back, but it's mostly whn it rains, Dave calls me his personal barometer. Look at us all so young, and with all these things going on, but at least we're all getting slimmer, that's a good thing
Kirsty, your boy sounds like he'll do well, he just doesn't seem to have people supporting him like they should, bless him. He'll be okay.
Goodness gracious, what is going on in this state? We are forcast more snow tonight into tomorrow, anywhere from three to eight inches!!!
Have been doing well on plan today, am going to try Veggies SW recipe of her chips soon, but count them into my points, she says they're lovely, and I believe her.
Right, have to have an early dinner tonight and then get to curves, then walk the dogs and then catch up on some laundry. Just watch, I'll be all caught up and end up with a snow day tomorrow (hopeful) and then I'll be swearing cos I could have taken the time to do it all tomorrow
