Hello 'tis me back again. I am very amused to see that although the thread is for the U.K. chicks, I seem to be the only U.K. chick posting at the moment! But I won't complain...you two are quite enough to make me chuckle my way through the day
I am really upset at the moment. You may remember last November I had to go to a tribunal to argue the case for reinstating my DLA benefits. I got the mobility component back on high rate, but only low rate personal care, and both only a 3 year award and not an indefinate one as we had tried for. You can request a "statement of reasons" and my benefits welfare rights officer said he would do this. Well time went on and it transpired that in fact he had not written as he thought he had. So I sent a letter and I got the reply yesterday. If you send in your request within 1 month of the tribunal you get the SOR without question. If it is between 1 and 3 months the chairperson can decide whether or not to grant your request, and after 3 months you have not got any chance at all. Well.....the chair person has refused my request for a SOR. I am so cross and don't know what I should do.
As usual I sought my solice in food and binged on an Indian take-away. So today I have been right OP. I found a M & S count on us cauliflower cheese (195cals, 7.8g fat, carbs 11.1 per 300g pack.) and a sald which was delicious for lunch and I had a yoghurt for breakfast and 2 mandarins during the morning. Cor blow me, I shall never get down to where I had got to at this rate. I am so hopeless.
Did any one see the newspaper reports on the autopsy on Dr. Atkins? Apparently he was 18 stone when he died, had suffered a couple of heart attacks and also strokes, and had cardiomyopathy caused by hypertension and congested heart disease. Phew!! No wonder it was not reported at the time of his death. More than a bit of contensious evidence there to bring his "miracle diet" into dispute.
Chris, I hope your poor whacked face is not feeling too bruised now...get that tube of Arnica out. You have probably enlightened us before and I have forgotten....what is your job? It consists of dealing with awkward people by the sound of it! (is it time you moved!!?)
Cathy, will it be Olivia's first flight..?Coo how exciting
Ta ta for now, take care, love from Teel xx

Hi all.
Sorry I haven't been about much in the last few weeks. Expect me about a lot more now though. I have been overdoing it and it has got the better of me. I am not feeling at all well today and so am off work.
Will fill you in on my news and catch up on yours when I feeling a little better. Will tell you that my diet has been bad but my exercise has been good.
I will get back on track if it kills me - lol.

Hello have been living life to the full over the last few weeks and can't seem to get motivated at all in this weight loss. I feel enormous again but can't seem to find my willpower, will whoever has borrowed it please bring it back.
I know that as soon as the nicer weather comes in I will regret not having done anything about my weight. But every morning I wake up and say this is it, today is the day I start again and by tea time I have fallen off the wagon. I need to find what is going to work for me, what I did last year isn't having the same effect this time.
besides that all is very good with my life, have been working on an interesting project at work and have been in Hq for the last week, am hoping to work there a couple of days next week too. But then I came home and discovered Sean has chicken pox and I won't be going anywhere at all for the next couple of days. Am willing to put money on it as soon as he is clear of them Steve will come down with it. Why is it when I get something interesting to do they need me but when I am doing the boring mundane stuff they are fit and healthly? Shouldn't joke but Sean is more pox than normal skin at the moment, not a boy to do anything by halves.
I promise I will pop in more often I really need to find that motivation

Hi Girls
Oooh glad to have you back Carol and SW we really really missed you..you know
Teel, Olivia is'nt flying anywhere..i am but i think she's flown 3 or 4 times already in her short little life i laughed my head off when Jacqui sent me a pic of her passport photo Sorry to hear about the outcome of things whats the big deal with them giving you an explanation for their decision seems to me its the least that they can do
SW, Take care of yourself and get well soon
Carol, I'm in desperate need of motivation too i thought that if i was really good these last 5 weeks i could have had at least 14lbs off before i went back home well guess what? i'm looking at my weight chart and i'm where i started on 4th Jan!! The best i could do was to get 8lbs off only to yo-yo back up again its not helping that i'm currently working on eating everything in the fridge/freezer before we leave so that i can turn it off and start afresh when we get back i've just tossed a lot of yogurt, sour cream and ice lollies this morning, good job hubby does'nt look in there very often (except for beer) otherwise he would think he is being starved My stepson is going to be P.O. when he comes up here with his pals to party because i'm not going to leave one beer in the fridge..i might leave them a note tho' telling them to off to their own place and party there i'm not really mean honest! but when we got back last September to find that they'd spilled beer all over the hi-fi and blown it up and then when questioned about it played dumb, you kind of get especially when "Daddy" does'nt say a word to or about his "angelic child" so we'll have to pick up the tab for a $500 receiver. I know what i'd really like to do is change the locks

Perhaps we ought to start a thread cxalled "Lost The Motivation To Fight ".
Got to go out to a G.P. appointment so hope to log in later.

Cheer up Tell, amybe you're stuck like me......I'm going to try and add a few more points to my day and see what happens, other wise Stef is going to be shouting at someone LOL!
I've been busy today, have a day off from work, apart from my therapy session this afternoon, so have got some wash done, it's even on the line blowing in the breeze. I have three more days off as it's a holiday here on Monday so I'll enjoy just pottering around and not doing much.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. Cathy, when are you leaving luv? And welcome back Carol and SW, we missed ya!

Am feeling much better today. Sorry to see that several people have lost their motivation but reassuring to know that I am not alone. I started off so well but have put all the weight back on and then some. I am now 2lb heavier than when I started.
I have been really naughty with my eating. I am not going to be too hard on myself as I have gone 6weeks without smoking and I am exercising religiously.
Is everyone looking forward to Valentines day? I already had my gift. I got flowers and a silver locket to put pics of the kids in.
Did anyone else get Private messages from Project 2004?
I do intend to get back on the wagon next week.

Went out for an Indian last night with a few friends, the meal was great but then we went into the pub next door where the music was too loud and you couldn't hear waht anybody was saying. I left early and got a lift down the road was just not in the notion for it.
Am going to try very hard to stay on points today. Got up and had my bottle of actimel and some sugar puffs and milk, so that's 3 points gone.
Valentines day gifts, I should be so lucky. Ray is working a 12 hour shift and won't be until 8:30. So I am planning on tidying the house, making a lovely low point dinner and having a couple of beers chilled for him. Could buy him a slushy card and present but I know that the dinner and beers will be more appreciated. What a romantic couple we are.
If the flowers aren't too expensive in the supermarket later I may buy some to cheer up the livingroom.
This house won't tidy itself, so if I want to make an impression, I best get on with it. Am going to tidy Steves room today too. Seans spots are looking better, am going to put him in the bath soon and survey the damage below all that camomile lotion.
Tell I weighed myself this morning too. 15 stone 11lbs, very scary back over 220LBs. It took me so long to get down to 202lbs, but I got there and I will again

Carol..did you find him? wait for it...the indian sorry i could'nt resist it reminds me of a story my hubby told me about an english guy that he was drinking with one night who announced at the table that he "fancied an indian" hubby understood what he meant but he had to explain it to the canadians they thought he meant a person what is actimel?
Still sat in my dressing gown at 11.30am watching the bridges of madison county 'thinking' about treadmilling i'll have another cuppa first and then get on with it

Cathy, you had me in hysterics with the finding an indian....
How's everyone's Valentines been then? Mine has been nice, not exactly full of romance, but I did get a beautiful fun card and loads of red roses.
Was taken out to breakfast for a pre birthday treat too which was very lovely. Decided not to count any points today and tomorrow though, due to celebrations, and will start afresh on Monday.
Carol, hope the spots on your son are not driving him nuts. I remember when mine had chicken pox, years back, Hannah ended up with two doses in one year, the first dose she only got five spots and then next dose, she got while we were on holiday and was covered and miserable and I ended up running round chemists in the little village for calamine lotion and trying to hide the fact that she was probably spreading her spots with everyone we came in contact with. I think I remember dosing her up with Benadryl for the itchy's too and she slept well every night too.
Cathy, I am getting very excited for you leaving on Wednesday, I'll be thinking about you while I go and slave away at work. While you're eating all that yummy food to bulk back up, have a nibble for me please
Right, off to watch Total Recall for the 200th time I think......at least I get it now... and then I'll be picking up kids from movies, and taking girl friends home. My boy can get his learners permit in two weeks and then he'll be doing the driving with me clutching the oh handle!
Have a great Sunday everyone.

Happy Birthday Chris.
My kids both had chicken pox when they were tiny. My son was approx 2 and a half and my daughter was approx 6 months old. They were covered in spots but luckily neither of them seemed too worried about it. Neither of them were very ill either - just spotty and scabby - lol.
I intend to get back on track today. Wish me luck - lol.

Actimel is a live yogurt drink, when I drink it regulary it stops my thrush ( I have suffered constantly since having Steven in 1997) But when I stop drinking it and eat pure rubbish it comes back. me and doc reckon I have bacterial thrush and am trying to control it by good eating, so my 3 month off plan has not helped me in that way at all.
Didn't cook a romantic dinner last night, we had a chinese instead, but it wasn't that good, should have pushed the boat out and cooked. Am going to make spanish prawns followed by spicy beef for tonight. Will be yummy
Sean is driving me scatty. He is fed up being spotty. He is enjoying having a fuss made of him though and he has watched most of his DVDs on with the comfy chair pulled round in front of the telly, as he left his glasses at his aunties the other night. Think he is also enjoying being spoiled on the food front, am just about to go buy more cheese and a french loaf, his favourite and the amount of iron bru that boy has drunk over the last 3 days is unbelivable. Am going to have to try and persuade my mum and dad to look after him when school is back on Tuesday as he can't back until the spots are gone. Am just waiting for Steven to get spotty as he is very cranky and out of sorts today !!!!
Have a pile of ironing to do will that count as exercise for today ?

I think ironing must count for exercise - just alternate arms - lol.
I wish you hadn't mentioned french bread. I have 2 loaves in my kitchen and I love the stuff. Will be good though.
Am off out for the afternoon. Kids are going to a party which I though was in one town but turns out it is in another. It is much further than I t hought and not on a bus route so my mum is going to give us a lift. I might pop into M&S and treat myself to a few things while they are at the party.
I don't know if I have mentioned it here or not but I bought my first car a few weeks ago to practice in while I am learning to drive. It is a Vauxhall Corsa and I love it.
