I really struggle to be disciplined with food, I'm very hungry a lot of the time. I look forward to food and love it, but it annoys me I have such a huge appetite,. i suspect borderline thyroid and hormones are contributing but I found I have the "fat gene" and struggle to keep my weigh within the healthy range.
I was thinking of something that happened to work for me years ago, I came across it by accident. I was also grieving at the time so I'm sure that wasn't helping. The one meal a day diet. I see it seems like madness to stop food and expect my appetite to be reduced but there was a period in my life previously where by I was within a healthy weight range and I did this. I would like to try it again but with support - can anyone direct me as to where there might be a gp or online forum?
If you're often hungry, you might be eating the wrong foods. What types of food do you eat?
Some foods are more than filling than others. Foods which are high in fiber and/or protein tend to be filling. Some examples of filling foods are vegetables, fruits, beans, eggs, fish, and quinoa.
Sweets and refined carbs are not filling, and will make you more likely to overeat.
