Which diet plan

Hi all, i joined this evening and was wondering which diet plan you all do or follow:D as i am not sure which to do

bargoo 01-12-2012 04:41 PM

Calorie counting works best for me, reliable, flexible and free.

knoxie 01-12-2012 05:44 PM

Overall I count calories but within that I restrict my carbs a little and up my protein.

FatLea 01-13-2012 03:33 AM

I'm carb counting and portion control. Carbs really make me balloon so this works well for me. :)

MrsPenguin 01-13-2012 04:20 AM

I'm also counting cals... I've worked out I should be taking in around 1200 -1250 cals a day and I can have pretty much anything I like as long as I account for it.. It makes me make better choices and I am having alot of fresh veg and salad along with my meals as it helps bulk it all out and fill me up.. but I can also have a little of the bad stuff too.. and just count it and cut back in other meals/areas or do more excercise... it's free to do and you can find the cal content of basicly everything online.. and I have alot of basic cals on my blog if you wanna take a look. Good luck :D

Hi all, I have just joined 3FC forum, about 15mins ago and I'm following the South Beach diet. Tried it a few years ago should have stayed on but strayed instead so now I'm back. Good to see a UK section. Good Luck to me and everyone else.

I follow Eat Stop Eat plan. Or Intermittent Fasting. I love to eat big meals, so this has worked for me over the course of the last 9 months.

Bonnie+J 01-26-2012 10:12 AM

I'm doing slimming world. the meetings arent in my area, but i got the books from a friend and feel that its the right plan for me. I've done them all tbh, but this is the first one i've tried that makes sense.

omgzitsmiranda 01-26-2012 10:16 AM

I do low carb, low calorie, low fat & HIGH protein :) = Ideal Protein. I use all alternatives though :) Works for me! Lost 8lbs in 2 weeks AND almost 3 pants sizes! Can't argue with those results ;)

debsarooni 01-27-2012 02:56 AM

I have just rejoined slimming world and its going well so far :D

jessie 2 01-28-2012 02:13 PM

Iam also doing ideal protein diet. it will be 3 mo on the 5 of february so far down 33 lb. really hard at first but so worth it1

takingcontrol 01-29-2012 12:26 PM

I just eat healthy 95% of the time and 5% of the time treat myself, to make it realistic. I don't count or restrict anything, but I try to make good choices.

A major part of my success this time around is exercise though, it's really helping me to stay on track :)

Good luck whichever plan you choose :)

Chunkydunk 01-31-2012 04:45 PM

I'm doing Slimming World extra easy plan because it's so easy lol

It just works for me and means I don't have to cook separate meals for my family as everyone just eats it.

canadianwoman 02-02-2012 10:43 PM

I'm calorie counting and keeping my carbs under 100 grams per day.

Eat cake and lose weight

Hi i am new here and wondered if anyone had read the article in Daily Mail?

The part that interested me was a couple of comments about a diet which helps keep insulin stable and results in weight loss which involves eating only carbs for breakfast/no protein. Lunch is protein and carbs and evening meal is protein only and leaving 6 hours in between meals which is a bit scary!

Has anyone heard of this diet as I have tried to find out information but to no avail.

Thanks.

takingcontrol 02-12-2012 02:38 PM

ThisyearIwilldoit Nope, I've never heard it!

IMHO all these fad diets cannot ever make up for general sensible eating that will be able to fit in and around your life long term and hopefully forever. Anything that dictates what you can and can't eat from meal to meal probably isn't sustainable, but as long as you're still allowed fruit and veg and the cals aren't too restricted and you want to try something new then I don't see there's any problems in trying it out! :)

Candeka 02-12-2012 03:01 PM

Calorie counting for me as well. It doesn't cost a cent and I can eat anything I want. I fail if a diet is to restricted and doesn't let me eat nachos or ice cream. Plus, its something that you can easily do for the rest of your life.

I have been doing the Alternate Day Diet for almost 2 weeks. I've found it to be the least dietlike diet I have ever been on.

I cannot count calories - I simply cannot get that involved with it.

I have lost 5lbs in 2 weeks and am feeling good, in control and happy.
Intermiitent Fasting has some fascinating research and my fngers are firmly uncrossed - I suspect I won't need luck (unless I just jinxed myself :D)

lilsquirrel 02-14-2012 02:30 PM

Calorie counting and calorie cycling

Seems to work when I actually manage to keep to my limit :D

AngelCOH 02-14-2012 03:58 PM

I calorie count too. I use FitnessPal on my iphone to track my food and exercise which is a godsend!

Hey there, just curious which products do you use as alternatives for Ideal Protein. Did you start with Ideal Protein products?

GillW23 02-16-2012 10:07 AM

Hi there,

I try to stay away from the Word DIET- I think ive tried everyone in the world (almost) So I like to use Life Style Change :) Stop you from punishing yourself when you have some chocolate or something 'BAD' therefor when u do eat something YUMMY then you tend to eat just that one thing not loads of Tasty treats. Also, Stops People Saying Thought u were on a diet with that look! Plus its a long term weight loss its better for :) x

GillW23 02-16-2012 10:08 AM

Ohh Yeah and Calorie Count on My Ipad :)
