HELP!
I am currently in vicious cycle of dieting well all week then the weekend comes and I eat everything in sight.
Im currently just under 9 stone, but just cannot seem to lose anymore weight because of my weekend binges. Thankfully Ive managed to maintain my weight but really just want to finish this "diet" now and be happy with my weight.
My problem is Im always feeling down at the weekend, partly due to health reasons, so was just wondering how anyone else deals with this?
Really need to break this habit before its too late and im getting fat again!!
I used to be like this. I either socialised alot with friends or I was at home alone bored.
For the socialising side of things I started meeting up with my friends after I had eaten dinner thus ensuring I had a healthy meal. If I was drinking alcohol I would prepare some healthy snacks for when I got home so that I was not tempted by takeaways.
The boredom at home was a bit more difficult to get around but I set strict times for my meals and snacks, planned them in advance and tried to fill my day so I wasn't as bored. I also ditched unhealthy snacks from my cupboards so the temptation wasn't there.
It takes planning. It's the old, fail to plan and you plan to fail.
Get the foods that are not optimal out of the cupboards and fridge. Purchase needed foods BEFORE the weekend. If you go out, plan a meal, if possible, bring one with you. I often plan a day of shopping and bring a meal in a lunchbox and eat it at a park bench or in my car. I stay out of the food courts.
Plan a new meal to prepare and make it special. Learning to make new dishes can be fun as long as it works on your meal plan. Fill up the extra hours with a project. It could be a one time project like going through all your clothes and getting rid of what no longer fits. I keep only clothes that fit me, nothing too big or too small. Or learn a new craft, read a new novel, pamper yourself with a spa day. The point is, to keep the weekend busy with feel-good things to do. Planning it is half the fun!
