Hey

How about stopping at a baguette shop and grabbing soup and some low cal crisps (squares/skips) or snackajacks? Maybe even chuck in a cheeky curlywurly too! :)

What we have here is a whopper jr. If you get that with no sauce and no cheese and (if you have them) apple fries its 330 cal for the wholemeal..add a bottle of water and you are set! (I say have them there cause I live in the states but hope to be traveling back to the uk soon!)

EDIT: I just looked on the uk site for burger king, if you get the whopper jr no cheese, no mayonnaise and a small fry (you don't have apple fries) your total for the meal would be about 450 with a bottle of water or diet soda ;)

I agree with packing your lunch. A family member on a healthy eating plan visited me recently for a few days and actually brought a lunch bag and kept healthy options in her bag in case we ended up somewhere that did not offer her particular food choices or in case she needed a snack. She also made very selective choices at restaurants. I was impressed. It taught me that you really have to plan sometimes.

One thing I have done was considered all of the places I like to eat, my favorite dishes and how to modify them. It also helps that my plan does not involve counting calories; but selecting a meal from particular food groups. This makes it easier.

Having said that, make the healthiest choice you can....grilled chicken sandwich...chicken salad...fruit....diet soda....avoid the dessert...leave the fries....etc.....

The fact that you are thinking about it so far in advance means that you will likely make a great decision.....good luck :-)

Pack your lunch and enjoy a diet coke in burger king and perhaps a fruit bag to go with it while hubby is at BK.
