supersize v superskinny....and other tv shows

hey all, has anyone watched super size v super skinny, its like my diet therapy at the moment, makes me stay on track, think about why im this big, and what habbits i need to address and triggers. I also learnt alot about anorexia from it.
I think i have learnt alot from the anorexia oddly enough, almost how to really analyse food and to consider it fully before eating it, not just thinking about how it feels.

what shows u watch or learnt from?

I love this show but its really bad for me. It does the opposite for me, it makes me think 'oh, I'm not that bad.' Maybe I should just watch supersize me on repeat.

I love Supersize v's superskinny I'm re watching the old series on 4 on demand. I can certainly identify with how people let themselves get so out of shape. It is disheartening when people confess they were slimmer of the year in nineteen ninety whatever only to find out they gained it all back and more. Just reaffirms my belief that it's my head I need to change not just my diet

I've watched it a few times on Youtube. It's sort of scary to see how much or even how little some people eat. I think it's addiction either way for them

I love all the diet shows, it makes me think of all the crappy things i am doing to my body, ok i dont always sort it out but its good to know, and i only have myself to blame.

Im hooked on that show but I kinda dislike it. First of all, they prescribe 2000 cals and 2500 cals for every man and woman. I think that that should vary amongst individuals-they all have different jobs and are different weights. Also, they say stuff like, oh this super skinny only eats 1700 cals a day. I do believe that for a lot of people if they eat that little for a looooong time they will be thin. However, when I add up their cals-because they list what they eat for the week and you see their meals, they do not add up to 1700 cals-that might be their MAX on their highest cal intake-a lot of times they skip meals and you can tell its prob not even 1000 cals.
I watched super skinny me, but both of the women were so melodramatic and annoying I had to skip parts. Especially the one with the dark hair and eye bags.

Do they only invite tall people or something? Never mind 2000, at my height and activity level I'd gain weight on 1700!

(I don't have a TV so I've never seen any of these shows and am quite innocent about it all.)

I like it. No show is perfect, but it's nice to finally see a show that emphasizes that skinny does NOT equal health, and that balance/moderation is an important component. So many shows focus on obesity as unhealthy but neglect the other end of the spectrum. It is an unfortunate fact that some girls here on 3FC who overcome obesity actually end up underweight in a dangerous way. Eating disorders unfortunately affect your mind when both big and small.
