Restaurant advice? e.g.Strada?

  • Hi there!

Im having a little dilemma, I`ll be going out to dinner soon with family and although we havent decided where to go yet, it will more than likely be strada.
Normally I budget about 600 calories for dinner but the menu at Strada doesnt have any nutritional info so Im lost about how much to estimate the meal to be.

I was thinking of having the Seafood linguine, it says it is sauted tiger prawns, squid, mussels and clams in a white wine, garlic, chilli and tomato sauce.

Thinking restaurant portions etc how much do you reckon I should estimate it to be?
  • This is probably too late but still great to address for others.

As you may know most restaurants use a lot of butter/cream and calorific ingredients :S

Your choice looks great, anything with a tomato sauce will be better than those creamy ones (such as Carbonara).
Maybe try starting with a salad (with dressing on the side so you can measure it) and then order your main and finish when you are full.

Maybe you could also try and eat less calories throughout the day and save more for the evening? Or just ask the waiter, maybe they can ask the chefs to use less or give you a smaller portion? You'd be suprised how well restaurants have adapted to us dieters

    Best of Luck! x
