I had a shock like that at lunchtime with a bag of crisps. I really wanted some to eat with my sandwich but when I looked at the calories there were 251, just for a small bag of crisps! I think I will have to stick to Quavers from now on.

Our office didn't shut today, but we did have 2 minutes' silence.

I was in the bank in the next village when it all went quiet and the women behind the counter stopped working - they hadn't done an announcement or anything - I thought it was being held up.

Most of the shops were shut - which was a bit annoying because it had taken me 30 mins to walk there and another 30 mins to walk back - not having got half the things I had on my list.

Hello girls,
Well this is my third post this evening. But I just wanted to share with you that tomorrow, Weds, my son, Justin, is going to this big formal dinner after being taken to NY City to watch Phantom of the Opera...this is all to do with his youth club he goes to here on base. They have awarded him 'Youth of the Year' for this base, and tomorrow he goes up against the rest of the youth in New Jersey. He has had to do a video interview so far and also have letters of recommendations written for him by people who think he's the greatest.
I am so proud of him, well if the truth be known, I always have been with or without a title, he's a good boy generally. He has to wear a formal suit for the day tomorrow so I will be taking pics of him. I'll let you know how he get's on. One proud Mum in NJ

Chris that is SO nice! You'll have to post a picture of him in his formal suit on 3FC (with you in it of course).

Kim and Phoebe - yes, I know that feeling as well. I have turned in to one of these people who read the back of every packet in the supermarket. Sometimes I am pretty sure they get the calories wrong though. We have found some lovely potato wedges in Netto that give the calorie value as 100 cals per 100g - which can't be right, surely? It seems very low. Has anyone else bought frozen potato wedges from somewhere else? If you have what calories do yours contain?

Youth of the year WOW! Now I just feel stupid now with my highlight of the day news getting two strikes in a row at bowling.

Sarah come away from the back of the packet and relax. Im sure the cal amount is right I saw some in tesco and was similar.

Brillinat Veggie, well done on your two strikes I'm absolute crap at bowling so I'm well impressed with your news.
Anyone who can help me in telling me how to add a pic to this, please do, cos I have no clue. I might even do as Sarah Ann suggested and put one of me in...I have a recent one of me and the Easter bunny....

Thanks Veggie .... hopefully the calories for those potato wedges ARE right cos I've got a freezer full now - they are REALLY yummy! I had 300g of them with an tomato/aubergine/chilli bake and a side salad last night and I really enjoyed it!

Chris... you could try this for posting a picture. Scan or upload and save the picture as a jpg. Then adjust the size of the picture so its less than 25600 bytes. Then, at the bottom of the screen where you type a post you will see in the left hand column a heading saying 'Attach file:' click on the browse button and find your picture on your computer and then click on it so then click on 'submit reply'.

Hi everyone

just popped in for some lunch and found myself here...wonder how that happened then

just a quickie on the crisps/snacks front

I noticed Phoebe mention quavers...have you tried asda own brand quavers?, they are only 71 calories per packet and in my opinion taste nicer than the real quavers.

the other things I tend to eat quite a lot of in place of crisps are walkers french fries...82 calories per bag and skips 88 calories a bag

as for bread...well I have to admit I am totally addicted to weight watchers malted grain , only 42 calories a slice and it doesn't taste like the usual run of the mill slimming bread, the slices are not a bad size, and at that sort of calories if I am still hungry with just 2 slices well its no great hardship to have 4 slices and still have a respectable calorie intake.
My sister loves the nimble bread too but I have to admit I still haven't bothered trying that yet...I should but then again I'm happy with the malted grain so why bother changing that...actually come to mention it sometimes I do change but only to the weight watchers brown bread, thats only 38 calories a slice and pretty nice too

hope that helps you some

Well better run the kids will be screaming soon

Ali

thanks for that posy, i think ill give the nimble a shot, i cant stand brown bread at all no matter whose made it lol.......i found mini pittas in safeways 53 cals per pitta so ive been having them filled for lunch it was the closest i could find to real bread . Also im changing my weigh in day im going back to weighing in on a sunday i think when i see on the friday that ive had a good loss i kind of let myself go to town on the weekends and i shouldnt really but its easily done especially when kids are in the house, so from this week im back to weighing in on the sunday that way if i want a treat it will be something small and will only be on the monday........this is all in theory of course will it work in practise i wonder!!!!!!!!! where is every one its becoming like a ghost board very eerie
