decadence!
We had a bit of decadence yesterday too. we were invited over to a friends house for a meal. we went over there at 4pm and didn't get home until midnight. The kids had a ball and we had a great time too. Chilli and rice followed by the most delish chocolate torte accompanied by glass after glass of wine.
I am detoxing myself and hopefully avoiding any weight gain by eating fresh fruit and yoghurt, for brekky and lunch followed by a light dinner this evening. It does you good to get out though doesn't it.

Oooh, ooh, good news, I was out last night with 4 of the people we're going to the Lakes with and everyone volunteered to eat low-fat, low-cal for the week to help me out (sometimes I love my friends ...). And they commented on how trim I looked (even though they see me every week and probably can't see any change), anyway, it felt wonderful!
I was intending to do loads of walking while on hols too, I hadn't thought of that, it's bound to help.
I feel better this week now I've done my weigh in, lost 2 lbs, perks a gal right up!

I'm working tomorrow - not a happy bunny
Bought a tent this afternoon - how mad are we - now we'll have wet windy cold and supposedly enjoyable family holidays for every more
Quick update - Ray just opened the tent box, they have given us the wrong tent. Is in the box of the one we wanted by this one only sleeps 4 not 8 - we like lots of space !!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like another jolly to the other side of Edinburgh for someone. Not a good start for our dream holidays.

I'm not very good with tents.... the first holiday I ever had in a tent I found out I was pregnant, the second one was when I told my ex that I wanted a divorce, another time a kid on a motorbike which was too big for him to handle, flattened it and the last time was at a bike show when a bunch of drunken bikers fell on it and crushed my (now ex) boyfriend's vertibrae (sp??)....
I'm avoiding tents from now on....

morning all...
After reading all your lovely mail and getting a bit of motivation from it all I am going to go to Sainsburys this morning and fill up on lovely low fat stuff.
Veggie don't worry about E4 - I stayed up until 1am (how sad is that) on Friday night watching BB they were just walking about and every time they said anything remotely interesting the sound is cut so they can put it on Channel 4 that night. However, at 7.30 this morning I was sitting there watching them all sleep shouting 'come on then you lazy b*****s get up and entertain me' - I think I need therapy
Have a good day everyone.

I know it is only 20 past 6 but I want to report that I am having a good eating day today and only a few hours of it left. I am feeling quite confident that I can make it to bedtime
Stuck in a boring meeting most of the day but managed through it - some how !!!!!! why don't they have meetings about interesting things.
Have to go put away a mountain of washing - you can tell I'm really keen to go do it can't you ............

Tent swapped for correct one today. Am quite looking forward to it - big issue is I refuse to cook a proper meal for the 4 of us in the tent. One pan meals I can cope with. Tins of spaghetti bologense or macaroni cheese. I will find a healthy option for me. Mum use to cook gormet dinners on a 2 ring cooker - but I'm going for a break and a holiday not on a mission to prove how wonderful I am because I can cope with everything. Am looking for a site with a chip shop near it as well as we may need extra nourishment.
OK not the healthiest option but we will be walking lots and I'm cutting back this week to help balance it all out.
Anybody got any suggestions of good camp sites within a couple of hours from Edinburgh or Glasgow, willing to go into northern England and further north in Scotland. Anywhere but Kenmore - which is absolutely beautiful and I would strongly reccommend it. But that is where mum & dads caravan is and they are going up there for a break so we have to go somewhere different - it's the law apparently or so my mum says !

Carol- i won't be forgetting my can opener either when we go away next week !! you do right one pot meals rule on holidays !!
Anyone else feeling down in the dumps with all this miserable wet weather? I am thinking of buying a boat if it pours for much longer It is really cold here today, I even fancied a bowl of soup for lunch now that is extreme because some weeks ago didn't think I would be eating any soup for years to come as I had overdosed on it !
Keep up the good work ladies 'cos summer is just around the corner...........isn't it?

Its pouring here as well, TQ! Its been like this since 2 minutes before I was supposed to go out walking.... and I can't see even the tiniest bit of blue in the sky... might have to put my wellies on and go out just the same.
I don't think I'd bother going on holiday if I had to still do the cooking - especially on one of those little burner thingies in a tent! We had a lovely holiday a couple of years ago on one of those river boats.... it was a two week long pub crawl - best holiday I ever had.
