Quick stop by.
Hi to everyone and congratulations to all you losers. I am still hanging in here, had a loss this week  but not counting it because ToM came early. I am not losing very much although I am being fairly good, however I remember reading something that Stef posted about increasing activity but not increasing your "feul" so I am going to monitor it next week more carefully. Don't want to be the only FAT chick in Brighton  |
wow i found my calorie book last night..........and was checking out pomegranates i dont know why i just did ....think i was checking on all the fruit i used to eat a lot of as a kid
well get this per oz/pack........................over 7000 cals          sarah can you check this with book you have i think they must have misprinted surely!! |
WELL DONE ON YOUR LOSS, BPB! TOM early or not... a loss is a loss...!
Kim - pomegranates??? Anyway it must have been a misprint - nothing is 7000 cals an ounce - not even lard - my book gives it as : Flesh only, per 28g/1oz = 20 cals Whole pomegranate, 200g/7oz = 65 cals .... which seems a bit more realistic! |
whew:D im so glad it was a misprint
the reason i was looking it up was i realised i donr eat a lot of fruit , so i was thinking back over the years what kind of fruits i used to eat and pomegranates were one of them, when they were in season i had one every day for school then i thought omg if it is over 7000 each i was having that 5 times a week:o |
There's not many foods I actually HATE - but pomegranates is one of them..... its all those little pips and that sour stuff between the little cell thingies..... urghhhh!!!!
|
hee hee my mum used to give us a pin and wed sit for hours picking each piece out ...............one way of shutting me up for a little while:lol: .................if my DH reads this he'll be buying shares in pomegranates:lol:
|
I don't much like the flavour of pomegranates either - I went to a posh dinner party a while back and the hostess had prepared a Masterchef dish which was some sort of mango salsa with pomegranate in it and I HAD to eat it.... I don't know how I managed it, every mouthful was awful!
Only eleven days until the end of the month - I'm not going to reach my target.... I was hoping for 5lbs loss this month but its coming off at a steady 1lb a week and there was just wasn't enough weeks in the month. Never mind - I'll keep trying - I might try eating a bit more, it worked last time! |

Its the same for all of us... when we first start a diet we get a big weight loss in the first week, a bit less in the second week and it slowly goes right down - our bodies seem to get used to the lower food levels. If you want to lose it, its important that you start measuring your food and keeping a record of what calories you are eating. Visit www.FitDay.com and see what your basal metabolic rate is and aim to eat around that many calories a day. It'll probably be about 1500 - but if you are exercising a lot you will need to slightly increase your calories, but not by as much as you think. There's a calorie burner calculator on www.realslimmers.com that is really helpful.

Just a quick well done to everyone who has lost weight over the last couple of weeks. And if you haven't lost then stick with it.
Me well I haven't been on the scales recently. I drank so much when I was on holiday I think if I got stopped by the police at the moment I might well be still over the limit - Ok that is a slight exgaration. Am going to weigh myslef on Tuesday as normal and get right back to this weight loss thingy |
Sounds like a great holiday - and well done for getting back on your diet.
You can do this, Carol!! |
4lbs loss!!!!! now at 186 i only have one left to lose for april target........ive not got much time to reply to posts kids are not well so i am reading them all but cant stay long enough to post....im shocked ive had such a good loss this week as i had to very very bad days but i have been walking for miles up steep hills too....either way im very pleased :smug: :smug: :smug: :D :D :D
|
4lbs!!! WELL DONE KIM!!!!
You are going to HAVE to tell us how you are doing this.... for instance what is a typical daily menu and how much exercise are you doing? (I remember you struggling with walking up the stairs when you started - around about January time......) |
sarah oh i remember too how the stairs nearly killed me:lol: but i started to walk and now i walk 6 miles every 2nd day and i do it quickly it doesnt take me forever, and i have disco-mania with my baby on days im not walking also do my rebounder for as long as i can which varies depending on how much else ive had to do that day menu is very basic
im a limited cook:lol: i dont have breakfast but ill have a sandwich or ryvitas with ham/laughin cow and tomatoes around 11ish lunch is normally soup with a 2 finger kit kat and aound 3 ill have an apple then for dinner i have same as everyone else only smaller but with more vegetables.......... or a weight watchers meal with veggies i think the reason the weight is moving now is because im actually getting into the exercise and i love my walks especially when i can go on my own, which isnt often :( |
Well done Kim.
