Just done 20 minutes of my Cardio Plus rebounding tape.

Found my buddy out yesterday and that has spurred me on to do something, it reminds me just how little I do as part of my normal routine.

I am determined to shift the "body bits" I don't need.

Ooooh Ive just discovered I still own a skipping rope that I had a primary school! Its a good one too, the ones with the rubber/plastic rope and plastic handles rather than those old ones with rope and wooden handles!

It tires you out pretty quickly though doesnt it!!!!

I must admit i haven't bounced/done yoga or callenetics tape for about 10 days as i have been busy at work and also been covering paper rounds for holidays so figured i was getting my exercise that way.

Next week it is back to rebounding!!

I'm still doing my walking (the dog makes me) - but I am selling on my Callanetics video on Yahoo - I can't cope with that pain down the back of my leg. I got a Pilates booklet and keep planning to sit down and work my way through the exercises - does anyone do or have done any Pilates?

Our local swimming pool must be re-opening soon - its very small, but within walking distance (just) - its been closed since we moved here because they have been refurbishing the changing rooms. Rumour has it that it has got a quite nice but small fitness suite as well!!!

What do those of you who go to a gym wear nowadays... ?

Managed to get for a walk today, not at lunchtime though had to wait until I got home tonight. I got home at 7:30 and realised the only time I had been outside today was this morning walking from the house to my car, from the car to the childminders, from the childminders to the car, from the works car park to the office and back again and then from my driveway to my house. As it looked like it had been quite a nice day I decided to go for a stroll this evening. Everybody came with me so it wasn't a fast walk but we went about 2 miles and passed a pleasant couple of hours.

I am planning on walking on Sat and Sun and then trying to build up the exercise again during the week. One of the guys I work with in Glasgow is saving to move to London so maybe I can persuade him out of the office for a walk at lunchtime while the rest of them eat in the fancy canteen. Will need to start working on him.

LOL - I have got myself a couple of walking partners. One of my Avon customers has seen me going past every day with George and knocked at my front door to ask if she could join me each day because she has seen me slowly losing weight and getting a bit faster with the walking.... so of course I said yes and warned her it would be a very fast hour long walk - and she looked a bit worried!

Then, when I got home, I thought back to when I first started this walking and realised that there is no way she will be able to keep up with me now and I said to Kevin I thought I had perhaps done the wrong thing, but that I would give it a try for a week and see how she gets on, but that I will have to do rebounding or have a second walk to make up the calorie difference.... and it suddenly dawned on him that I don't look on my long walks as purely a form of exercise/punishment for being fat any more - and he's wondering what he's missing out on! Now he wants us to go on a regular evening walk as well....

I just wear jogging bottoms and a baggy t-shirt, you do occasionaly get women who wer hot pants and crop tops, but not that often, my gyms women only as well, so its not too intimidating, its also very small and theres usually only 2 or 3 other women there!

No don't tell her that  say this...Sarah you have to wear a boob tube and hot pants to gyms nowadays if you don't everyone will stare and laugh at you!!

Too late.... a sportswear shop in the next village is shutting down (not surprising!) and I just got back from their sale - I bought one of those very dodgy outfits... Reebok mid thigh length cycling shorts (£2.00) with a matching thong leotard thingy (£3.50). I'm just trying it on now and it is REALLY uncomfortable... and then there's a little crop top (£2.00) - I think it either goes over the top of the leotard or goes just with the shorts on its own, but I'm not sure about that. I got some silver trainers as well - Adidas (only £5.50)

I might have to wait for another half stone to disappear before I could wear this in public!

Its a pretty colour though - lavender and white - and I have already got a pair of jogging bottoms which is an exact match.

I just caught sight of myself in the mirror and I think I look like a Jane Fonda video reject!

veggie 04-20-2002 09:15 AM

OMG thong leotard crop top cycling shorts :jig: I have a vision in my head and it won't go now

Sarah Ann 04-20-2002 09:22 AM

Shorts - white and lavender stripes (vertical)
Leotard - lavender
Crop top - same as shorts

My jogging bottoms are just plain lavender - so they go very nicely.

All size 14/16 which is why they are tight (I'm nearer 16/18).... never mind.... they WILL fit eventually - even if it kills me! (Its the thong bit thats really uncomfortable). It'll be just my luck if they decide no to re-open the gym and swimming pool in the next village now! :sheep: :sheep: :sheep:

veggie 04-20-2002 09:27 AM

So you are going to wear jogging bottoms and all of the above :?: you gonna have more clothes on than normal aren't you!

Sarah Ann 04-20-2002 09:33 AM

I dunno - I wouldn't have thought so - it would be a bit hot! I just bought the leotard, shorts and top because they matched AND they matched my jogging bottoms - I doubt that I will actually wear them all at the same time though - maybe mix and match them. I could wear the shorts and/or the crop top as summer stuff anyway.

Last time I went to a gym (years ago) I just wore plain black shorts and a black tee shirt, but I knew this sale was starting and it was all half or even less of the normal price so it was a bargain... and because I have got it all now it will be an incentive to go to the gym (if its open).

Just trying to find the phone number to see if it has re-opened yet.

Smiling Sal 04-20-2002 04:39 PM

Sarah you'll be able to pose around that gym with the best of them :dizzy:  Only kidding we know you better than that. I couldn't exercise in public - at a gym anyway - as I wear old leggings with the lyrca coming out and one of Rays old t-shirts that is covered in wood stain - I just look lovely and am jealous of your organised wardrobe.

Haven't managed that walk today. Have tidied my house from one end to the other. Gave it a good clean and believe me it needed it. It wasn't really dirty more just a mess - but at this moment it looks lovely - until tomorrow morning no doubt. So I had an informal workout today. Tomorrow I walk

Sarah Ann 04-21-2002 03:35 AM

I was sort of forced in to buying the new stuff. I have gone down from a size 24/26 to about a size 16 (but size 18 waist) and I can honestly say that on Friday I didn't have more than half a dozen things which fitted now - thank heaven for automatic washing machines!

I'm really desperate for some summer clothes - all my shorts or anything made of lycra or with an elasticated waist are unwearable as well because I have overstretched the elastic and they just slide off of me. I have bought some things from eBay but I had a bit of a shopping expedition yesterday which was fun.

I have decided NEVER to put it all back on I have been throwing away or giving to charity all the clothes I have been 'shrinking' out of... so I have got an almost empty wardrobe and no suitcases heaving with things that don't fit any more - a real novelty for me, I suppose this is the downside of losing weight.
