Trying to talk myself into doing one of my exercise vids (Callanetics - I think) once I have got the house sorted. Also busy trying to track Ray down to see if he's sorted out my car yet - boy is that man driving me up the wall and he's not even here

Got up this morning and did 30 minutes of callanetics. Sounds good but to be honest I only did the warm up, the 3 stomach exercise and the cool down stretches. I was not very good to be honest, but practice will make perfect. If I’m very frank I was cr@p at the stomach exercises, all that rolling up quarter of an inch was no good for me, I kept tightening my neck – a habit I need to get out of.

But at least I got up and did it. Onwards and upward!!. I’m looking forward to go out for a walk at lunchtime as the sun is shining and it looks lovely out there. I may even try and sneak in an extra ten minutes, depending on if the boss disappears before then or not. And then beyond that we need to do a little shopping this evening so I might even walk up to the Co-op and make sure it is only a little I buy as I’ll need to carry it back – does that count as weight lifting

Well done, Kim! That sounds like a really good plan - nicely balanced - but don't overdo those sit-ups.

I'm am TRYING to learn to like it - I do enjoy the walking and the rebounding - but I am not so keen on the exercise videos, I am now rotating a callanetics video, a yoga one and a Richard Simmons one from the US that my diet buddy sent me, its called Sweatin' to the Oldies and its very funny. I am also doing about 15 minutes rebounding/jogging each day to VERY loud music - works off all sorts of aggression - almost as good as making bread.

No - I don't think you can - at least I haven't ever seen them. I was surprised that an American video actually worked on my VCR, I know the UK ones don't play on American VCRs.

Perhaps they might sell Richard Simmons' videos on Amazon - they are worth getting because he is good at working to a novice's ability - and, of course, they are hysterically funny, but they give you a good workout. He is definitely a camp Leo Sayer look-a-like in lycra!

This callanetics video is AGONY! I did the whole thing yesterday and you would never think that 55 mins of such small controlled movements could cause so much pain! I think Carol did the right thing by doing just a bit of it.... too late now! Carol - did you get cramp in each of the muscles she was working on when you were doing it??

This is the cover of the Richard Simmons video I got sent - the actual content is pretty much like the cover looks... I just checked and you can't get it on Amazon over here but there are loads of his videos on Amazon.com.

No.... I haven't been having any REALLY bad urges for chocolate this year. I only ever really liked white chocolate or really expensive milk chocolate and so I made sure that all the eggs I bought as pressies weren't made of white chocolate and the certainly weren't expensive this year. I did have a BIT of a lust after a choccie egg when I went looking up a Thorntons website to show my American diet buddy what a chocolate egg ought to look like. They looked so good I could almost smell them......

I've got that one as well. Don't you just love those people in the Chorus line!! They're real party animals.
I wish I could remember to put on the earrings and paint the nails, have a hairdo and do my makeup before I start to exercise!!
Funnily enough some of them look as good at the end as they did at the beginning - doesn't happen to me like that. Does anyone else look well groomed at the end of their exercise session? or am I the only one who looks like something a large dog brought home?

Sometimes I look like that BEFORE I workout!

They are a tad on the strange side on that video though - I don't do it often because it gives me the giggles and I have to stop.

Not sure about this callanetics one - did it again today and now I have got a shooting pain running down the back of my right leg from just below my waist to just above the back of my knee - it reminds me of a nagging pain I had when I was pregnant....

(Don't even THINK it - I had a hysterectomy 18 months ago!!)
