Okay, I know I'm not a UK Chick, but I want to be! lol. I fell in love with London the two times I went (as well as Oxford, Stratford, well, you get the idea...) anyway, I read Cosmo UK because it's far, far superior to American Cosmo. I've noticed something lately, though - it seems that for years Cosmo would feature a new "weekly diet" a la Bridget Jones. The LBD, the Scarsdale, Atkins, etc. Lately, however, in lieu of a new diet scheme, I notice that they've been running stories like, "Why you are NOT fat" or "How to find you 'happy' weight", which I find extremely encouraging.
I was always rather worried about young girls flipping these open and deciding to do some random diet for a week, thinking they could lose 15 pounds and sort of stuck in this cycle as their Cosmo came every month.
Since we're usually a bit behind getting our Cosmos from the UK, has this trend continued, or was it kind of a fad like anything else, only to return to the "normal" stories they had before?
HI Vikkivma and welcome!
I haven't actually looked at Cosmo for years but you can look online I believe.... I hope they have changed like you say.
I am interested to know it is better than the USA Cosmo - From what I heard it was all about getting MR Right and so on. Mind you I used to be annoyed at UK Cosmo for that but I don't think it was quite as bad as that.
I think they started the "Find the weight YOU want" and "Why you are not fat" articles. I am not from the UK to notice a pattern change but I bought the December issue and the November issue and they were both had this. No more different diets. The 1 thing that amazed me with the UK Cosmo is that they also had some serious articles and life stories, something it is a bit rare in the Cyprus Cosmo.
Hey Vikkivma I cant really answer your question, since I alos get Cosmo Uk late but I read Cosmo UK and American Cosmo and hafta say I love them both although the UK one tends to have a lot more in it and Im always jealous of all the things in it which I cant find because I live here lol
