  • As the title states : I need an alternative to water

Plain water makes me physically sick. And as such I haven't drunk any since being on this diet. But obviously I need fluid intake. I know of all the benefits of drinking water whilst dieting so just want something to replace it.
Does diluted squash have the same effect???
  • leigh sugar free squash is just as good if not better cos it actually has taste.....why not try freezing it in an average size bottle then just before it is actually solid smash it up (the ice , not the bottle) pour into a glass and you have nice sort of flavoured sluchy .............much better than plain old water
  • I live on diluting blackcurrent, I am surprised I am not teh same colour as a blackcurent
  • Thanx. Am off to diulte some squash as we speak.
  • your very welcome leigh .....lt me know how you like it as it isnt for everyones buds....taste that is
  • STOP
Before you get used to diluted squash STOP!!!!!

Even if you only use half the amount recommended, even of the reduced sugar ones, you could be adding 100's of kcals to your diet. 4 pints of normal strength normal squash can easily add up to 800 - 1000kcals!!!!!!!

So before you get your taste buds used to sweet squash flavours try this - lemon or lime juice (like Jif lemon we use on pancakes). Virtually no kcals per pint of water, it is all natural, no added colours, no sweeteners sugars or anything. Just pasteurised whole juice! And you will find it in the home baking section of any supermarket - normally by the pancake mixes and icing sugar alphabets!

It took me a while to get used to it but now I HATE the sickly sweet taste of squash and have found a cheaper substitute that makes plain water drinkable.

Good luck with the weight loss whichever water flavour you choose, Stef
  • There are lots of flavoured waters on the market, have you tried any of them?
Again, make sure you read the labels, some are packed with sugar!
  • I drink a no-added sugar dilute (I think it's by robinsons) which my dentists recommended as being the least damaging on the kids teeth - I looked at the labelling and there's something like 4 cals per made up glass - I drink about 1.5 litres a day - I also have it VERY diluted - hope that's of some help.
  • I drink Robinsons as well, I drink it all the time & Im doing pretty well at the mo so it can't be that bad!
  • BIG WELL DONE TO CHICHI
