Like i said before you cant eat as many fruit/veg raw as you can cooked.i think it is the amount you could eat they are thinking about.
All the best with it though Anna. they all work if you stick at em but you do have to be careful or should I say sensible with those portions.:dizzy: |
A success story. A woman I work with has lost over 3 stone in 18 months with SW. She admits it hasn't come as fast as she would have liked, but she has lost it and I haven't. She has lots of small losses then she'll slip back by 2 or 3 lbs then the next few weeks she loses 0.5lb, etc unti it is all back off. No big losses for her either.
It all sounds a bit complicated to me but them maybe I need to try something to diferent if I am going to make this my year. Carol |
Welcome to Cat 90, I can see your problems trying to do SW from where you are, not having the same manufactured foods, you are ok with basic stuff but you wouldn't want to be living on that all the time.
I think this cooking of fruit business is something to do with fiber. An apple, I would have thought was more easily digested if cooked rather than raw. Well that's my theory for what it's worth. There are lots of things I don't understand about it, like the fact that I am sure that I am eating more calories now than before, but I feel slimmer this morning :dizzy: When my friends and I came out of the first class, to be honest we thought S** this, but then she said I've paid however much, £8.75 I think and I'm not wasting it. So over the last couple of days we have worked at it ( I've had a lot of help from you lot here - thanks for that) and after speaking to her yesterday we have decided to give it a few weeks, mainly for us to fully understand so that we can 'do' the diet properly. Somebody advised that I get the Free Branded Foods Book from the club which is about £1.50 as I don't want to fork out on the big one at this stage. Sal - another reason why I want this diet to work is that I really needed something new. When I did WW I knew exectly what I would eat, breakfast, lunch and Tea, yes. it was easy but, I wasn't loseing weight and if I go back there, I'm sure I will just eat the same, it's comfortable, like an old shoe. Because I wanted a change I looked for Slimmimg Magazine clubs but they have all closed down here, this was the only alternative I had to WW. I shop this weekend so I can gear this to what I can eat, I hope that will make things a litle easier. I did had my wine last night, but not so much. I chose a starter which I had bought from Sainsburys, smoked salmon with a cream cheese filling and it was only 1.1/2 sins, I followed it up with gammon, pinneapple and stir fry, so I had a decent meal. DH enjoyed it anywayn:) (Red Day) Anyway I've blabbered on long enough, I hope to be able to post a loss on either Wed night or Tuesday, so watch that space! :dizzy: |
slimming world
;) Hi everyone,
Ihave been reading your messages about S.W. I am a member, and have been since september, I have lost just over a stone. I find it the best diet i have been on, having tried them all with no success:mad: I find it great that there is no weighing of food and as long as you stick to the right days and dont mix then up u can have mostly what u like. I have just been on my second holiday since starting, and lost 1.5 lb when i went back to weigh in class, thats something i have never done before i can tell u!!! I have been to w.w. and found it hard to lose a lb let alone the 2-3 lb i have been losing in s.w. I have mostly been having red days but have been trying to have more green days lately and experimenting with receipes i have been given. Jano, I read that u have been finding it hard to know what to eat, on red days or green i have porrige for breakfast made with water (or half water and half milk from u'r allowance) then with my other healthy extra(b box) i have nimble amazing grain bread (two slices) my A box is semi skim milk. on a red day lunch would be scrambled egg with tinned tomatoes with mushrooms and onions added or iceland fat free 75% fat free quarterpunders (sin free on a red day) with a salad and u'r bread allowance or keep u'r b box for 7 oz of potatoes on a red or on a green have 113 g chicken or a smaller amount of red meat. I have had a lot of receipes off the slimming world site, like a sin free quiche for a red or green day (depending on the ingredients) hope that helps, let me know, Jeanie |
Hi Thanks to all the help I have had here, as I have said I am finding it easier now but I do think I need the free branded foods book from class so that I have more choice.
I really do hope that this diet works for me, I really want it to now that I have got into it. My friend who comes with me says the same, she is doing Red Days too. I will swap a little when I am sure of exactly what I am doing. However, the rice and pasta allowance on a red day I think is enough for me, I'd go overboard on a green day I think, knowing it was free. I have been on the scale this morning(unoficial) and they do seem to have come down a little - so here's to Wednesday Night:^: However if anyone has anymore bits of infor that may help, send them this way Janet |
